Headers recommendations
Hello. I hope you and your family are well and healthy and would like to thank you for any inputs on what headers I should get.
I have been browsing the forums for awhile and have been reading other threads about the different brands of headers.
Would greatly appreciate if this thread was drama free and purely on the topic about other brands of headers.
At first I was looking into full exhaust systems for my C63 but all of the aftermarket exhausts are either too deep toned (Akra) or a combo of high pitched and raspy sound (iPE, Fi).
The header I'm primarily looking for is a header that will give me a noticeable good performance gains and sounds closest to stock but louder, much louder.
So I looked into headers and came to a conclusion on 4 different brand of headers : ARH, Fi, iPE, and MBH.
C63's with just the iPE/Fi headers installed sounded better than their full exhaust systems which was way too raspy for my taste.
It seems ARH and MBH are the most popular choices here in the forums.
I figure that videos wouldn't do justice as to how they sound in person but in my opinion from watching YouTube videos, ARH is a bit more on the raspy side and MBH is closer to the stock sound but I would like to hear directly from those who actually have these headers installed on their C63's.
Thank you.

I have the MBH header installed for 6 months, it's nuts! My set up is MBH header, MBH high flow cats, second cat delete. Basically sounds stock BUT load ton louder. Cold Start, forget about it lol, stupid loud. It doesnt drone, sounds a bit louder than stock on normal drives, tuners into a monster when you get on it. Tunnel/underpasses will be your paradise heaven lol. It's not cheap but you get what you paid for, it comes with a LIFETIME warranty that says a lot about how confident they are about their product. Money will spent and never looked back. Good luck!

It looks beautiful installed underneath your C63 and I don't undermine the quality of work MBH does.
It seems you opted out on the x-pipe. May I ask why?
There is no wrong answer here. It's a matter of preference but I'm just curious.

@Jjigae
make sure you read the VRP group but thread.
I would compare those headers (via pictures) to some cheap eBay header which you can buy for around $600.
You might not see a difference.

There have been plenty of ebay header threads reporting Garbage fitment and low quality welds. We have had 0 of that. Checkout our Instagram page for sound clips, and poke around the facebook groups for feedback.

Those cheap becker headers has been reported not to fit and cost a facebook member 1k to get them fixed.

I had ARH catless headers. I loved them. I would also recommend doing the motor mounts at the same time since the headers will be out of the way. The only issue I had was when my right motor mount failed, it caused the exhaust to tilt up and the tips on the right side to touch the diffuser. That is no fault of ARH. The sound was incredible. The x-pipe got rid of most, if not all, of the rasp. Nice growl at part throttle and then scary sound at WOT. The build quality was incredible with very good communication from ARH. I tried to order through MHP (which we all know is shady...they wanted a wire transfer haha), but when I wouldn't let myself get scammed they put me in touch with ARH directly, and they were very good. My only regret was not getting them ceramic coated. They provided new bolts because fitting with the stock studs in wouldn't work and O2 extenders. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with either setup, but MBH is probably better for FI due to the larger runner diameter. MBH has had some mixed reviews regarding communications since they are a smaller company, but the products coming out of both seem to be very good. If your car is higher mileage, I would also replace or clean the fuel injectors at the same time as the install because the injectors are definitely going to work harder. And new O2 sensors are maybe a good idea. If not, the O2 sensor location on the ARH is very good. I could swap all 4 in my garage in maybe 45 min.

The vrp headers I’m assuming you are taking a shot at are definitely better quality than the other “china headers” as you claim, is it worth 3 times more not sure on that though. Time will tell and as more people get their reviews up

I have the IPE headers on my car, and love them.
The build quality looked to be great when I examined them before fitting.
They fitted directly on to the car with no issues.
And then there is the sound. Oh my, it sounds amazing.
And it gave a very healthy bump in power.

I'm currently using the Agency catless headers to the stock resonator and mufflers.
I'm getting some cats installed this weekend to take out the rasp.

im running the VRP Headers at the moment. I tried tolerating being catless, but the fumes were just too much. I ended up reeking of fuel every time i drove it and my garage smelled like it, too.
I had EC install high flow cats from Fab Pros. It took some of the raunchy out of the exhaust but more to my liking. Cold start is still a BEAST. No fumes, great sound and seemingly better response.
I'm happy.

Yes, I don't know how people can deal with catless.
Everything smells of raw exhaust. Car, clothes, garage, all of it.
I look forward to seeing how it sounds without the rasp.

MBH headers with X pipe. Originally had it without x pipe and it was way too loud. X pipe kept the amg growl but took away the rasp. Love the headers and glad I made the decision.

I have the VRP headers on my car... absolutely love them!!
The sound is insane, and I had NO fitment issues what so ever.... and no exhaust leaks either.

I would at least modify the brace or make a new brace which clears the exhaust.
Just my 2cents.

At least put some spacer under it, it's not as stiff as a one part brace but better than nothing.
