The Megan Racing W204 strut brace sold on ebay for around $80 fits the C63.

It says in the description that it doesn't fit the C63 but I just installed it w/o any issues
It turns out after emailing back and forth with other distributors of Megan Racing parts, that they only test fit their parts on a C250 and a C300 and assume that it wouldn't fit the C63.

I understand that this kind of strut brace doesn't provide the highest rigidity compared to other brands but it is worth the $80 in my opinion.

You might want to rotate the bar 180°.

You'll be surprised that a great many sellers even producers haven't a Scooby Doo about what they are selling .

I've got the opposite problem , a listing that doesn't fit as it's really a bar made for the left hand drive American market !!

 

I don’t want to rotate the bar 180°. The tag is applied incorrectly.

I have one of those in black used for about a year on my old car, looks mint - would sell for like 50 bucks shipped anywhere in the US if anyone wants it, this style is the generic one sold under a dozen brands all made in the same factory in China.

I'm not saying it doesn't work

I'm saying that it does flex some, much less when welded

 

I have given up on this subject people for some reason don’t accept or understand a strut brace with a point that allows rotation or movement does basically nothing

 

Someone needs to write to AMG .

 

A strut tower brace is designed to prevent horizontal forces. The bar with joints would only be completely useless if there's play in the joint. I would assume that A45 AMG bar would have zero play, but the ebay bar... who knows.

 

The tag on my strut brace is 180 off. The brace only goes on one way and wouldn't fit if I turn it around.
Even if you post more pictures of other cars with a megan brace doesn't change the fact the the tag on my brace is applied incorrectly.

 

The tag looks like it can be removed and rotated from the photos above. I could be wrong

 

How about a pic of one not installed on a vehicle? Does this help?

 

If only it had a steel cross bar so it could be easily tacked and then welded in place.

Maybe you should explain it? Please add a solidworks motion study video showing how the joints prevent it from functioning.

 

Or you just trash the aluminum bar and get a steel bar and welded in place. It’s still worth the $80 just to keep the strut mount.

 

Or since the mounts are aluminum and the bar is aluminum you have everything you need just weld it together.
