Cam lifter ticking - don't buy that "bleed down" crap story
The cams EAT the lifters. 70,000 kilometres here the lifter looks like it's made out of tinfoil. I am not a Mercedes fan anymore.

Doesn't absolve MB/AMG of the lifter problem but not a lot we mere mortals can do.
As I did just replace defective cam parts and use top quality lubricants and additives.
I still love my M156.

The M156/M159 was AMG's first mass produced engine. it'll have its faults. how many manufactures first engine had faults...how many had faults for 50+ years. It's still one of the top 3 mass produced NA V8's ever. Also, make sure you use quality oil.

Bleed down is an issue, the little valves in the lifters are faulty and were superseded by the M159 lifters with improved valves in them.
On top of that there is certainly an issue with the metals used, the cam is cast iron, the lifters are very hard stainless steel. I have heard rumors that maybe the earlier Pre FL cams were harder and there are about 4 part numbers on the cams in the M156. Not sure if the newer cars do this the same with the newer cars, but certainly many many cars have had this issue where the cams eat through a lifter, cars also have the lifters wear down the cams, so it may either be the cams being softened and now the cams wear instead of the lifters or possibly it is both where the lifters wear the cams, then the cams get rough or are possibly harder after the surface wears off them and then they eat the lifters. In any case the new lifters are also friction coated to help stop both, but ya it is totally a defect and Mercedes got away with not fixing it.

What do your cam lobes look like, I remember seeing a Tasos video where he was explaining that the cams have a slight angle to the tip of the lobe and that angle spins the lifter, when it wears totally flat then the lifter stops turning and when that happens the cam sits in one spots and starts to dig a hole, so would be curious how much wear on the cams or if being earlier cams they are hard and unworn and just chewing up lifters.

This. Addressing the head bolts and lifters on an early M156 is common knowledge at this point.
We can point fingers/curse AMG all we want and while it may be deserved, it also does zero to resolve your issue with your car. Bottom line, know what you bought and take the (reasonable) steps to remedy/prevent.

My $100,000 new car that I bought used 8yrs later for $20,000 that comes with a high reving v8 race engine isn't as reliable as a toyota yaris. "Not a fan"
MB should be sued and pay for all my repairs even though it's outside of the warranty.
Maybe you should sue your parents too for passing down bad genetics causing you to be such a dumbass.
