I work for a large International Software/Cloud company (you probably use one of the products everyday to check email) and work in the Public Sector org at the company. A few of my colleagues have been deployed to Germany for multi-year contracts and taken their cars with them nach Deutschland. From what they told me, they got a specific amount of weight/tonnage they could ship before incurring a cost.
I have been wanting to take my cars over when I am TDYing there but it is WAY too expensive for a short trip. If we were ever to get deployed there, we will absolutely take both AMGs, ship those and use up all of the tonnage for the cars and just buy new furniture at the ever present IKEAs all over Germany LOL :-)

Where are you going, if you can say? Stuttgart, Kaiserslautern, Wiesbaden? When I go over, I am between Wiesbaden and K-town.

Exactly! Our folks that PCS to Germany, especially with no kids and cars, just bring their cars! IKEA is your friend in the E.U. Furniture designed for European living spaces.

If you don't already have get you a set of cheep 18inch OEM rims to put some winter tires on. You will be rolling on them for 6 month a year.

I plan to get a cash car/4matic Merc for daily driving to/from work during the winter. I don't want my C63 exposed to such conditions.
