Sorry to bring up an old topic, but I can’t seem to get the specific answer that I’m looking for when reading through the forum. I’m interested in installing exhaust valve cutouts after the resonator, but before the mufflers. I don’t mind the increased noise since I already have straight pipes that have replaced the secondary cats and resonator. Will there be any performance advantages or are our stock mufflers efficient enough as is?
My guess is you’ll pick up something like 2-5 hp with the valves opened instead of running through the mufflers... you won’t notice it. Will sound loud though and be able to toggle back to quiet if you go with electric cutouts
I just want to verify the diameter of the exhaust piping in the picture. This is where I was planning to put the exhaust valve. Is it 2.5 inches? Also, any advice on the positioning would be appreciated. Thank you.
Yes I believe it’s all 2.5” from
the cat to the muffler... and it honestly doesn’t matter much I usually put them near the back and mufflers just to limit how much exhaust may enter the cabin ...
