Carbon Fiber Hood issues??
I'm looking for a carbon fiber hood for my c63.
1. I read somewhere that its hard to install a CF hood because you need to get all new hardware and parts and everything replaced to install the CF hood. Is this true?
2. Someone mentioned that the hood will no longer open all the way straight up with a carbon fiber hood? Is that true too?

You can take all the parts off the old hood and apply it to the carbon fiber one if I recall.. Each company/type of carbon fiber hood you get will fit differently too. There are dozens of threads that show good to bad fitments.
It will also depend if you want a vented carbon fiber hood (507/BS type) or just a normal one.

FWIW, I had an E46 M3 that I installed a Seibon CF vented hood on. To get the hood to work properly you typically would need lighter duty hood struts, and if you really wanted peace of mind, get some locking hood pins. I've heard mixed things when it comes to hood latches on carbon fiber and I didn't want to risk the hood flying up on the highway.

yeah i read a few threads but none have said anything specific about the hardware being easily transferred over without issues or not.
I want to get one with vents or like the black series type but i wanna still be able to open all the way up straight without issues.

That's actually one of my concerns, I'm worried that it might swing open or fly off if the original hardware isn't meant for it.
I still want to be able to open the hood all the way up vertically but someone said CF hoods wont allow that so i'm trying to confirm it.
Locking hood pins would work too but I dont wanna ruin the CF hood.
