Blue smoke on start up!

Blue smoke on start up!
Hey guys looking for some advice. Ive got a 2012 c63 that just turned over 80,000km (50,000miles). Lately ive noticed a small puff of blue smoke on startup. It only seems to happen on a second start up after a short drive. Never the first start of the day. Was wondering if this is a common problem with these engines and if anyone else has experienced this. Ive owned the car four years now with no problems yet. Thanks for any help

if a compression test passes, i'd look at the PCV valve. it may be passing a bit too much crankcase vapor into the intake manifold.

This is nothing to worry yourself about, just oil from the crankcase ventilation that is recycled into the intake and wasn't burned off until you restarted your engine.

I have had that occur since my car was new. It usually happens on a hot day after a short drive in traffic, then turning the car off for maybe 30 minutes and then restarting. If you drive hard or on the highway for a while it never happens...

This is the same principle, when you see cars burning oil, that blue smoke follows them. The difference is their car is burning a lot of oil, and yours is just burning maybe a cap full that happened to be inside the intake manifold.

Mine does the exact same thing and only after the previous run being a very short run (eg. moving the car). Nothing to worry about IMO. I just take it for a quick drive around the block if I have to move the car then it doesn't do it on the next start.
