SLiPlO Universal Anti-Scrape Guard
For those of you that have CF Front Splitters, and have also lowered your E55 or E63, then you'll appreciate this tremendously. This is a must have item, to protect your splitter.
I've replaced my CF front splitter already, and was looking for some type of skid plate, to protect my new one. Anyway, I came across this piece, while searching.
I purchased this SLiPLO Universal Anti-Scrape Guard from RW Carbon probably five months ago. It comes with 3M adhesive tape, but even after cleaning my front spoiler with alcohol, I found that it didn't stay on after it had rained.
Then dawned on me, that my front splitter is wrapped in PPF. And that was the reason why the 3M Adhesive tape didn't stick. So I used Gorilla Glue, and it hasn't fallen off yet, and I don't think that it will. As Gorilla Glue is strong.

That looks like a great idea to save a 500-1000 splitter for sure - the other thing that might work to mount it is the adhesives many OEMs use - for my BMW it is called BetaLink and they spec it for spoilers and lips where it needs more than 3M tape. I guess whatever you use the issue becomes being able to remove it when you need to replace the piece after it has sacrificed itself!

They provide you with ten pieces, which is more that enough the cover a front splitter. I needed to cut the end pieces, as they were too long. But my issue was applying 3M to Paint Protection Film. But if I ever need to replace my splitter or the guards in the future. I can acres the mounting bolts, or I’ll just tear off the guards.

I think you might be missing the point... every time your splitter touches you are putting stress on your bumper and its associated attachment points etc.... the splitter and bumper are connected and are essentially "one piece". Adding more parts to the bottom means that you will now hit things with it more often that you wouldn't have hit before.

But to be totally honest, I’ve never had any big impacts, just the occasionally scrape, hence the SLiPLO But thank you for the explanation, much appreciated. 👍🏽

Actually, I’ve never hit the front or the peak of the splitter, just the corner edges. This is because I approach an incline driveway at an angle. And that is the first place I make contact.
But since I’ve applied the SLiPLO, I’ve not made any contact with the pavement. I’m assuming that I’m more observant or aware of it now. 🤔

Ever since reading this thread, I no longer scrape. I assume it's because I'm more observant or aware of it now.
