you'll need the MPVI2, skip the pro features. they aren't yet released and might never fully be. for the M156/M159 you'll need 8 credits from HP Tuners. I offer my custom tuning service outside of anything you may need to purchase from HP Tuners.

I believe it's recommended to utilize Windows 10. the HP Tuners website would be the best source for those answers. Windows 10 has been free to download and license for quite some time now since Microsoft is no longer in the Operating System business. a quick search can guide you on that pathway.

Edit:
found this info but may he outdated.

VCM Scanner has been designed to be very laptop friendly. However, if you use many math parameters, functions, and a crowded layout, system demand (and battery usage) will increase.

System Requirements:

•2 GHz CPU
•4 GB RAM
•Microsoft Windows 7 or newer
•Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1

Final tune review:

So last night, Barry sent me the final revision of my 93 tune. All I gotta say is, this tune will destroy any box tune out there. You truly don’t know what engine you have until someone really knows what they are doing. Barry dialed my car in from cold start, to idle, cruising, mid throttle tip all the way to redline.

I’m sure there’s guys on here that are skeptical... I was one of them but this has been the best decision.

I’ve driven four c63 tuned all by different tuners. And Barry’s tune and HPTuners platform out shines them all. Datalog. Datalog. Datalog is how you reach tune and driveablity performance and perfection. I’ve must have sent 20 logs and Barry has hit the nail on the head.

What do you use to datalog?

I'm on a custom dyno tune from Jerry at EC, and debating whether or not to switch tuners due to the lack of communication and faith I have in the tune.

Hi, so now that Barry has refined his tune using all your data logs can that exact tune be used for all other C63’s that have the same spec as yours?

Cheeky bash by someone who wants to install regular C class front LCAs on his AMG...

HP Tuners has their own datalogging software.

All tunes are customer specific and are entirely custom. No single map is shared between clients.

My car is also tuned with HP tuners, and it's amazing.
Drives like stock when just cruising, but is an animal when you get on it.

dyno isn't that important. They aren't consistent between one another. Get a Draggy and post some data. 60-130 will give you real world results in real world situations.

If done before and after in the same dyno it is close to real world, and it is good enough for me to see if it´s worth spending the time.

Wanted to share some info. Was logging last week and my car peaked 31 degrees of timing at WOT on it own. I remember logging my other tunes and timing was so inconsistent and no more than 25-27 degrees...

31degree is old iron territory of ignitiontiming.
I wouldn´t stay in it to long without high octane fuel.

*scary*

that ignition timing was given to me by the ecu. We don’t have ignition timing set that high. The ecu determines what’s safe. it won’t deliver optimal timing if it doesn’t feel the need too. There’s plenty of n/a motors aside from our that do 31-32 degrees of timing n/a on pump gas. Eurocharged forces the timing on v7 to hit 30+ degrees and raises the minimum timing no matter the conditions if safe or not... makes you wonder why you read “eurocharged issue threads” the cars ecu don’t like it and eurocharged solution is to unplug a battery... so I think it’s more scary to run a tune that forces timing and ignores the ecu in terms of safety.

You can throw your log onto datazap.me and see whats happening. Saying you saw a peak of XX without any other parameters is useless info tbh. It would be helpful to see where it is on the power curve as well.

I’m not near my computer. What parameters do you want to know? Barry can chime in @hachiroku not sure how it’s useless info when majority of power comes from correct fuel trims and timing advance on n/a engines. I’m just saying what my car was peaking at WOT without any forced timing maps.

I would considering the amount of mods you have. Would only make sense to have the ability to fine tune your car... especially since it only take 2 min to flash with no key cycling

31 deg at 4500rpm and 13.8afr or at 7150rpm with 12.2afr and what cam timing, etc? It all matters on how it was tuned and what fuel you are using, are you near octane limits etc., there is so much more than just XXdeg of timing as a peak. Thats what I mean by useless. Throw your whole 1 gear pull log up into datazap to get a picture.

Hey Guys,
I won't be able to post many datazap logs as I'm having to clean up over 130 recorded channels each time, but here is the log where Pete's timing peaked at 30.5 degree's of ignition timing. The computer is a self learning computer so if mapped correctly, will use built in logic and algorithms to determine what is safe ignition timing to deliver at any point in time. If you put in higher octane fuel, it will adapt to the higher octane fuel. If you feed it low octane fuel, it'll adjust and compensate for lower octane fuels. If you force timing, you will essentially override the in built logic to intelligently manage fueling and timing based off what it determine's is appropriate for what octane or run conditions it is experiencing. This is where one might see misfires or adverse run conditions. Forcing ignition timing will only appease those who want dyno numbers, but not real world SAFE run conditions. With my mapping, I do not force fueling or timing. I retain all of the built in logic of the Bosch Motronic ME9.7 computer to compensate for optimal or sub optimal run conditions. Additionally, I tighten up many of the calculation maps as from the factory they are either too loose or too tight. This allows things to run like a sewing machine whether ambient temperatures are 100F or 20F while still safer than factory as I have updated those maps to my spec.
