Hi guys I've question to you regaindg my new car. Still in Japan but in 1 week will be in travel to DE. Using vin number I;'ve information that interior is Black....but in real life we've red..as below: from ViN this is orginal 507 version. Do you know what is going on? Is it ok or not?|

Not saying it could not have been an option but at least in the US order guide was never an option, was either black/black leather black leather/black mbtex or white leather/black mbtex and the AMG logo on the headrest was just embossed with the AMG letters in leather color, so it looks like someone has done some custom interior work on it. In the first picture it looks like the dye is wearing and there are dark splotches indicating it was black on black leather as it probably should have been and they died it 2 tone and added the giant affalterbach logos on the headrests.

The OEM two tone red-black seats have red stitching on the red leather portions and black stitching on the black portions. This looks like it was re-covered in the two-tone leather as a custom job.

Was it a MB design studio order? When you do design studio you can customise stuff...

How much customization though, the stiching and headrest different? I donr't believe it can be.

This is how mine is listed with the designo red/black although the actual colour code is listed as black only.

Interior looks to be aftermarket.

The Affalterbach crest is a dead give away on the head rest.

They did the door cards red/black also.

yeah, that headrest crest is kinda weird ..

Just noticed, too... on the bottom seat portion ... my seats have 5 separate sections.

In the photo, you have 4. I have a Coupe so that may be the difference.... i dont know.. just thought that was different.

That's why I asked..it is orginal....I found 2 or 3 amg blackseries with the same sings on seats....I've no ide if it's ogyginal...thougty that is customize in fabric...amg customization side....

The same thing happened with my car. The build sheet said black, but in person it was white interior.

Well, from what I can see there have been a number of "different" oem specs for different countries, so perhaps this was a JDM special

. Sorry I guess all 507s have the plaque on the dash so it may not indicate anything special. I am pretty sure I have seen those emblems on the seats somewhere before though.
