'11 C63 vs '10 CLS63 vs '10 E63

Hello everyone,

New to the forums and to MB. I'm looking to buy my first performance car, and I'm seeking some advice. I've completely fallen for the M156 engine. I've been waiting for the right W204 C63 sedan with a LSD (and probably P31, to be honest), but during that time, I've learned how much I love the CLS63 and E63 from the same era. These cars all cost around the same price in my area, around 25k CDN, and they all fit my lifestyle. I'm 23, and the only requirements on my list are 4 doors and a V8. Gas costs don't matter much to me. I truly can't decide which I like best; I've driven all of them and can see myself purchasing any of them. I'd consider it to be my new daily driver, but would not be taking it out in anything worse than a dusting of snow in the winter. My commute is very short, too.

I'd really like to know what the forums think in regards to performance, comfort, overall practicality, and reliability of these 3 cars. Most of these cars seem to average around 75,000 miles on the odometer around here, so I'm curious to see if any of these three have issues outside of the head bolts or lifters. My father is a mechanic and I'm somewhat savvy when it comes to repairs, so I have the tools available to look after these cars, and I don't mind the potentially high repair costs. That being said, I'd prefer to limit the amount of time and money I'd have to put into the car, as any sane person would. I've heard that generally (?) the C63 AMG W204 is pretty reliable, but I really don't know much about the E63 or CLS63.

Essentially, my question is, which one should I go with? Which would I enjoy most, or which is the most logical? Thank you in advance.

W212 - E63 AMG
In terms of reliability, they would all literally be about the same as each other, assuming you get a facelift M156. Only you can really decide which of the three you'd prefer to burn that cash with.

C63 will be the fastest
E63 will be the most luxurious
CLS is down to preference

I think it's a matter of preference. In terms of reliability they're all similar; the E/CLS is a little bigger and more spacious than the C. CLS does not have a back center seat? There isn't much more speed/features to make one stand out much more from the other two.

If you want the best performer it will be the C63. E and CLS are on the luxury end but heavier and don't handle quite as well. Probably the biggest difference.

I've driven C and E classes and the E (also assuming CLS is similar) feels like a massive boat. I prefer the C-class. C63 is the way to go.

If you ask in a C63 thread then chances are that people will say the C63 is best.
