I am in the process of getting Hachiroku to tune my car, and in order to do that, I need to send him my stock file. Thankfully, I have a handheld thing i got when I initially went with EC for a tune.
However, I am unable to load my stock file onto the handheld. I assumed it would have been saved onto it from the last time I used it(roughly 2 years ago). But alas, I was wrong, I only have the 3 iterations of the tune/s EC sent me.
I tried using the upload function on their software, and it through an error messages. I deleted one of the revisions of the EC tunes from the handheld thinking the memory was full and tried again. Still got an error. All I am trying to do is upload the exact same file I pulled from my ECU and sent to Jerry.

Did you update your software and device?
If so, you should get hold of EC and ask them to walk you through it. I had to do that in the past when the handheld seemed to get hung up.
Not sure if it was the same for you, but when I first download the "stock" tune, it was a very small file (my stock .fpf was a 6kb file). The EC V7 tune I got later was much larger, about 3MB.
I wonder if the original .fpf file actually contained the full tune, or if it was a unique identifier that just allowed them to upload a modified file.
Also, you mentioned that you were given 3 iterations of the EC tune from Jerry. Maybe you can try uploading the very first file you were given to the handheld, and hopefully it will contain the stock tune as well.
Shouldn’t the stock file already be on the handheld? I am pretty sure On mine I am able to just reload the stock file already, I can verify tomorrow
i had a look at the handheld, the only files on there were the EC V7 and some other iteration of it. Unless its in the "restore to factory" tab. I am not 100% on that, so i avoided that tab. Dont feel like bricking my ECU.
the restore to factory function should not be used unless you've been instructed to do so. to my knowledge this resets the handheld and erases currently loaded tunes from the handheld returning it to factory form. I've also read somewhere else that if you flash your factory tune and then factory reset the device, the handheld can be used on another vehicle, but only through the same tuner as they are all married to the tuners identification. only what i've read...i am not a DimSport dealer so I cannot back this information up with facts other than what I've read.
The easiest way to get a copy of your stock file is by purchasing the HPtuners MPIV2 tool. Revert your car back to stock with the My Genius then use the Hptuners to read your stock file.

I can't seem to revert my car back to stock....thats the issue im having. The only files on the mygenius are the tuned files. I can't upload my stock file from my PC to the handheld either. Maybe its a license issue ad i am using my laptop instead of my desktop, which is what i first used when i got the mygenius 3 or 4 years ago. Unfortunately my desktop's motherboard and cpu have bitten the dust and i haven't gotten around to fixing it. Been waiting for the 30 series cards and components to actually be in stock
Stock file is on the device. It's the first thing you do when you marry the device to your car and send that file to the tuner. Default name is MYGFile.fpf
If you don't have the option to revert, load one of the existing tunes then revert.

Do you have the HPtuners MPVI2? You are in luck. You don't need to flash your file back to stock. Just plug in the device and read the ecu from your car. As it turns out, the bosch ecu will provide you with a stock file instead of the tuned file.
