So i did the 1 by 1 method and replaced all the bolts, intake camshafts and lifters, however when putting it back together I got a bunch of codes thrown and the car misfires all on bank 2.
Steps taking so far
-Used 2 timing templates at the same time at 40 deg (all plates and bars in place on both sides before tightening.)
-Took off bank 2 cover again, found the exhaust was a bit misalligned due to a worn pin in the gear, took apart gear, did the pin flip, reassembled with new washer and bolt.
-Removed camshaft sensors and cleaned a bit of metal paste type stuff on them off and reassembled.
This just made it even worse... Bank 1 seems to run fine, but bank 2 will keep trying to find timing and eventually just run like crap.. Any help or troubleshooting steps would be much appreciated.
Car ran fine before the process. I'm guessing I did something wrong with the timing? but I'm Unsure.
Just closing out this thread for anyone else who has this issue. IF the car runs and just sucks at running, dont freak out. I originally thought it was out of sync and bent a rod or something, but it was just bad timing. I hade both tools and both bars in at the same time and everything, but apparently i suck.. I even went around 1 time and it lined up still. Anyways the timing was out, towed it to an independent shop specializing in Mercedes and they had it fixed by the next day. So i guess my timing skills suck.
