I have a 2012 C63 AMG sedan. As any new owner would, I was keen to try race start. To do this, I believe I need to have the traction control in Sport Handling mode. However, when I press the traction control button (short press or long press) it does not display "sport" on the instrument cluster. When I go into the AMG menu, it shows me I have traction control ON and when I press the traction control button, nothing changes. I've only had the car a short while and this is how it was upon receiving it. Any ideas before I take it off to Mercedes?

I have held it for longer times. It doesn't make a difference.

I did run the icarSoft scanner on it yesterday. No fault codes on the ESP. I suppose it could be as simple as wiring to button come loose. Who knows?

I'll be taking it to Mercedes next week for them to take a look. Hopefully not too expensive. I plan to sell in a few months but realise that nobody wants to buy an AMG that they can't put in Sport mode - and therefore can not launch in Race Start.

Not sure if your iCarsoft can do it, but some of the manufacturer specific scanners can access individual systems for diagnostics, and give real-time feedback of button presses.
