Engine/Motor Mounts
Whats everyone’s preference on engine mounts? I’m doing headers soon and would like to replace the engine mounts as well.
My final setup will be weistec stg2, running mbh headers, mid pipes and x-pipe with possibility of running e85.
I’m looking for mounts that are street friendly that won’t give out or be too stiff. Is that a thing?

I noticed FCP has a Black Series motor mount kit (includes trans mount) for the M156, but they do not show C63 or W204 compatibility. Has anyone tried this, or know that the engine cradles are different?

MBWorld Fanatic!
My part numbers show the exact same motor and transmission mounts for the black series and standard c63

This is just another one of those things since they go bad over time people think there is an issue with the stock ones. They work just fine. If you're really hard on your car you'll need them more frequently. These cars are old now, rubber dies. The stock stuff works great.

Pretty much my exact thoughts. And with lack of customer review on anything that was or is currently on the market is a risk I'm not willing to take.

When I was looking there was nothing available in stock for aftermarket urethane so I did not have to worry about which way to go. I do not track the car and had no interest in adding harshness and vibration (failing stock mounts giving harshness and vibration was what I was wanting to recover from) so the aftermarket urethane mounts were ever only a low possibility for me. New oem style mounts installed (what an ugly job that is) and the vibration and harshness is gone. Like a new car - I now realise that I had been putting up with deteriorating mount vibration for some years.

Another question for the experienced people in the room. How often are you changing motor mounts?
I'm a 2013 ~23K miles and I think I'm beginning to notice some vibration at idle. Although, no where else in the driving experience. I have ARH headers about to go in and wondering if it's smart to do the mounts too, or at this mileage, a waste of money.
Thanks!

I didn't take mine out to install my headers. Maybe that's why it was such a pain in the ***. Hmm...
