ECE Engine Mounts
Hello,
As some of you know, ECE is currently not producing the engine and trans mount for the w204 C63. I would like to gauge interest so that I can relay it back to ECE in the hopes of producing another couple of sets for us interested owners.
please chime in
thanks

I installed a set of street/comfort rated versions in a 212 E63, and it felt just like, if not worse than the blown collapsed mounts I had just pulled out. I have a feeling this maybe why they are no longer in production.

Well, I am definitely keen on a set of upgraded engine and trans mounts. Don't care who makes them.
If a forum member with the tools and skills necessary to make some want's to give it a shot, I am always happy to be a test bed/support forum members

I have the ECE motor and trans mounts installed.
There is a different vibration in the car at 3-4krpm, difficult to describe, but it's as if the car is at a higher RPM that is actually is. I believe it is just the mounts transmitting more vibration into the car and you get used to it.
Other than that, I think they're amazing.

sadly i've heard more than once than their mounts polyurethane material has failed. the engine mounts are beautiful and seem to be a great design, but it seems the cylindrical urethane inserts fail for whatever reason. if it makes you feel any better, my 1-2 year old engine OEM engine mounts are on their way out with the way that i drive.

I can see how these may have had issues. Anyone have an old set of OEM ones? I can look to see what it would take to RE something a bit more robust.

I was one of the first to install the ECE mounts almost 4yrs ago and they’ve been flawless for me. I don’t drive the car much, but all the miles have been hard ones. I’m using the 60A poly which may be the difference. If I had to do it again I’d go for 80A.

the confusing thing is...they make runs for platforms, then discontinue them then release mounts for other platforms. not sure whats going on over on their end.

Yeah you would think once you have some made you would just keep them stocked or being produced. But I think they will remake them despite what they are saying they had told me they were done making them then like a month later I seen them selling them so jumped on a set

That rings a bell... The 40A duro ones were the set that was "closest to stock" and they were failing. 60A and up were doing fine?.

I have the blue 40A poly inserts with the large center like below. I did just order the race (60A) that still only has a 40A center but they started using a thermal gasket with them. I'll post pics when they arrive.

If these "failed" then they failed out of the box. Blackrocket, you have a track car with solid/poly bushings all over and probably catless long tubes with no mufflers lol. Im saying if you owned an S class and had blown mounts, and I put these in you'd think I popped your blown mounts more and lied about replacing them. If you like to unmercedes your mercedes they were a good fit. To the average C63 guy with loud exhaust, you would likely not care so much. If squeaks. rattles and noise bother you they weren't for you. NVH was terrible.
Also worked on an S65 with them and had very similar results, however this one the transmission one failed very quickly.
I'd agree the mounts were pretty and well made. Billet CNC, design looks great, they just dont work like stockers.
