Bad smell coming through the vents...
Hello all,
Had my car parked in a garage over the winter and now I notice a faint bad smell coming out of the air vents. Don't think it's fluid. Smells kind of like a dead mouse or something. Is there a solution for this? I heard someone mention a spray that can be put into the vent system that kills odor. Does anyone know what this spray is? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thx.

If all fails, try using an ozone generator for 30min- 1 hour with the AC on high / recirculate, then replace the cabin filter.
Even our new GLS gets this treatment every time from Mercedes and it still reeks on some days.

Could be either or both, but mold is probably the culprit

There was a class action suit on it, basically all the condensation on the ac condenser will mildew and smell seems worse on some than others maybe due to climate or stuff in the air or could be drain is clogged or restricted and the water cannot get out easily.
Usually the fix is make sure the drain is clear then spray it down with a cleaner like this
I haven't done it so not sure how easy access is to the condenser so you can spray it down well.

Yep! I took part in it and was surprised to have about 87% of my previous costs paid back, around $545. Was annoying as hell gathering all the previous service receipts up from past years and entering all the info.

I got a letter for the airbag a few month ago but I was traveling and now I can't find it 😅. I'll have to call the dealer about that too.
So..... is this mold issue a design issue in the vent system? Will this issue reoccur every 4-5 years?
