Eurocharged V7 shifting issue
Was told there was a post about the eurocharged v7 having an issue properly writing the map and causing shifting issues. Something about not writing the last six bits of the file. Can’t find the post. Assistance would be appreciated.
thanks

I pulled the V7 tune from my car and reinstalled the stock tune for more positive shifts. I can’t be bothered going back and forth with different tunes/remedies as I initially went with the EC tune for the supposed convenience. I’ll just get a custom Dyno tune just like on my previous cars.

I also experienced poor shift quality with EC V7, contacted them and they told me that they only tune the ECU so it would not have an affect on shifts and to reset the transmission learnings which didn't help much. Since the trans ecu and engine ecu talk to each other and I believe things like torque levels are communicated, what you do to the ECU can definitely affect the transmission shifting even though they are not doing anything to the trans ecu. I also just gave up and didn't use them again as from the answers they give I don't feel confident they know what that are doing - probably just because some junior person is answering the emails and at the end of the day you kinda get what you get from an off the shelf tune that responds differently on different cars, custom tune is the way to go is the answer at the end of the day in my book.

I also had the EC V7 tune with clunky shifting and rev "flare" between gears when driving softly. I reached out to them and they provided an updated tune that made things a bit better, but still not perfect. Peak power was good, but driveability was meh.
I have since switched to HP Tuners with Barry's tune (eightysixtuned right above), and my shift quality was restored to normal.
Mind you, this is still with the base tune. If you take the time to datalog, he can really dial in your car, and I bet make things even better/smoother.
