Do you use it?

Curious to see if members use Liquid Moly Ceratec oil additive or something similar in their M156?
Many mixed reviews on this topic but I would definitely say more Pos vs Neg on YouTube.
Share results or stories if you like.

i personally haven’t tried it and don’t believe the hype YET.

Used it for two years now on mine, after every oil change.

It's hard to say as with any additives you want them to make a difference, I would say mine ran slightly quieter after around 100 miles, and I did notice slight better pick up in the middle of the rev range, this might be just because also fresh oil.

Definitely didn't do it any harm and will keep using it every oil change

Have you tried searching on here? There are a lot of threads/posts about this. The correct formula is to dose first with Ceratec, then use MOS2 in subsequent oil changes. Redose with Ceratec every other year or so. Both products are great.

I did search on here and didn’t find much especially for the M156.
I did find a review on YouTube on the M156 and it was positive and the owner did notice slightly lower engine temps.

Liquid Moly also states one application of Ceratec is good for approx 30,000 miles.

That’s weird. Do you know how to use the search function? When I enter Ceratec, it shows 62 thread results for this forum alone. I’m fact, this forum talks about it more than all others combined precisely because the M156 benefits from it the most.

LIQUIMOLY suggested interval is fine for a beat 20yo Chrysler minivan. I think the consensus, along with things like oil change intervals, is to do it more frequently for the M156.

Unlikely. I think this guy just likes attention from starting threads that have already been discussed hundreds of times.

Not that case…but thanks for your positive feedback on it and the search tip.

A better poll name would help. Since it doubles as the thread title it has nothing to do with what it's for.

Better new threads discussing old things, than a dead forum.

However, use a oil with increased levels of zddp(and zinc phosphour also) and forget about adding other additives.
Zddp might cause damage to your catalythics, but if running catless or sportcats you have no problems(due to sportcats are way cheaper than oem).
High levels of zddp ensures that your camshafts will live,
Ceratec or MOS2 doesn´t.(even it they might help some)

Here´s a couple of links to discussions on some other forum:
https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...h-revving.html
https://rennlist.com/forums/964-turb...test-zddp.html

Ya I should have put more thought into it....I was just trying to keep it simple and short as I wanted to see/hear results before purchasing. It does seem like a good product and worth trying.

I´m using half a bottle of red line zddp(run in) additive every oilchange.
That raises the zddp about 500ppm(no danger to catalytic converters)
Zddp also helps pistonrings seal better(i learned that yesterday when scanning the web)

And an easier way is to run a 229.51 classified oil, they are for performance diesel engines and got added zddp.

What brand of oil and grade do you use in your C63?

I used to use Fuchs titan 5w-40(never any problems)
But now i´m testing Motul Xcess 8100(just got a good deal)

Both with half a bottle of redline additive.

I’ve never heard of Fuchs and rarely see Motul oil here in Canada.
Mobile 1 is commonly found however I’ve decided to try Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5w40 in my C63 for its first oil change in my possession and will most likely add Ceratec now.

Using the wrong weight oil for your first oil change. Brilliant.
