I've seen the older threads on this, but struggling. The wires are disconnected, and the blower motor twists a bit, but seems to be stuck. I have a 2012. Is glove box removal necessary? Does it continue to screw out, or pull straight out after minor twist?

Good to sleep on it...success! In the facelift models, the glovebox torx screws had to come out in order to loosen it enough to pull the fan out.
