Is this oil level correct / safe ?

Hi,

I recently had the car serviced (2011 pre facelift c63) and I just wanted to double check if the below oil level appears 'ok' , or whether to consider arranging to have a bit removed.

I carefully read various threads in the search history regarding oil readings/dispticks etc. I followed the cited factory method of waiting "at least 5 min" after a fully warmed engine and checking on level ground, etc.

It appears that at the 5 min mark, my oil looks fine.

What im curious about is that , 5 min later (ie 10 min post shutoff) the oil starts reading over maximum, and another 2-3 min after this, higher again. I also attached the cold reading for general interest/if needed.

I was wondering if people know whether it's normal for the oil to show over max so shortly after the first test at 5 min ?

(The first 4 pictures are all at 5 min, and then there are 2 pics for each following time conditions).

Thank you everyone so much for any help/ guidance! : )

The correct way to check the oil (as per the manual) is that the car has to be up to operating temperature, parked on a level surface and shutoff for 5 minutes, then check the oil and it should be between the lower mark and the upper mark, if you check it colder than operating temp or at any other time other than 5 minutes after turning off the car it will read different as it changes size with temp and over time as more drains into the sump, just check it as per the manual and if it is not in the correct place on the dipstick at that time correct it, but it looks fine to me at the 5 minute mark, any other time it will generally read higher.

wow...you have the vintage dip stick. according to the dipstick you've got too much oil. always be sure to measure how many quarts you fill up with at each oil change and be sure it is correct if you also drain the oil cooler.

Should the oil level be in the middle of the lower mark and the upper mark or at the top after 5 minutes to be correct?

Thanks for clear answers.

To dig into little bit of detail, I believe I've read some where that it is 1L between the Add and Full. Is that correct?
Should I keep the oil somewhere in between or always at Full? I understand it is not good for the engine if the oil is above Full.

I believe the manual says 1 L between the notches, basically anywhere between the notches is safe, I believe the dash light comes on at 2L low at least on the newer cars - Tasos has a video on youtube about the older cars vs newer cars, seems the older PFL cars might get a dash light at 1L also I think maybe it was, but I forget which one was which. If you where on the track I would want it fully topped up but for normal driving the variance of a liter isn't going to damage the car.

one thing to mention...it seems there were different dipsticks out there. if you have a replacement dipstick, your oil level may not read accurately on your new dipstick as the different dipsticks read differently.
