I finally decided to get tuned. I had been contemplating the usual EC or Renntech tunes but ultimately had it tuned by Dynamotorsports in Toronto using HPTuners.
One of the reasons I hesitated was that my car seemed to be very strong from a power power perspective so I didn't feel the need to mess with it.
Our baseline dyno proved this as it made 450whp/396wtq. For comparison, stock P31 on this dyno make about 420whp, cars with same mods as mine make around 440whp untuned, and with a typical EC tune make just under 460whp.
Current mods are:
ROW airboxes with AFE filters
Secondary cat delete (Mike's hard pipes)
Fuel is Petro Canada pump 94oct (e10)
After tuning the final numbers were 469whp/417wtq
Along with the power increase response was also a nice improvement but will have more impressions the more I drive it over the next few weeks.
Great looking car and solid numbers.
What is the consensus on the secondary cat delete at this point (with primaries intact)? Is it sound only or some power expected?

Thanks.
And yes, the secondary cat delete will definitely free up some power, allow for a bit more power when tuned, and is a sweet spot for sound on load vs being quiet at cruise and low loads.
So, some updates. Alot of people complain about canned tunes because of the adaptive nature of our ecu's, and this really shows the need for proper dyno tuning. Because HP Tuners allows for this easily there is no reason to have those well documented driveability issues. Now, this all of course relies on your car being in a good state of maintenance with no underlying issues as this ecu will pull back your power when it sees knock and it takes a while to bring power back up, especially considering the amount of maps and their blends its obvious why many canned tuned cars can have weird driveability issues exacerbated by poor fuels or cars that have maintenance issues that affect airflow etc.
With that said, my car is still driving perfectly, and although we knew that it wouldn't be affected I still wanted to see how road trip mileage might be affected so this past week did a trip from Toronto to NYC and with this drive, avg speed of 100kph/62mph the avg fuel mileage was 9.8l/100km or 24 us mpg and that included some small mountain driving so it is still getting great hwy cruise mileage as well.
