W205 LSD in a W204 C63?

Does anyone know if the two differentials are interchangeable? They appear the same on the outside, judging by pictures alone.

Has anyone attempted the swap?

I ask because W205 LSDs are much more plentiful. I am interested in swapping the entire diff/carrier assembly rather than installing an LSD only.
I put a Wavetrac in my previous E63 and couldn't tell the difference at all between that and the stock open diff until I was doing a burnout.

I don’t have the two parts in front of me to compare but I just rebuilt a w212 LSD and used the clutch plates and bearings advertised for the w205 and will be installing into the w204.

Thanks. Good to know.

Hopefully someone has had both carriers side by side and knows what the differences are.

Not sure if you're still looking for an answer here but I just installed a W205 C63 LSD into my 2011 W212 E63. Only the rear cover needed to be swapped over. This means that it should fit into the W204 C63 as well. The ratio for all 3 models is 2.82.

The only thing to watch out for is to make sure that you're getting a non-electronic W205 C63 diff. The differences are obvious as the e-diff has a big solenoid sticking out on the side of the diff cover and the carrier has 4 mounting bolts closer to the front of the diff, similar to W211/W219 AMG diffs. I believe some versions of the e-diff also have higher 3.36 gearing
