Increase in flow INTO the airboxes, decrease of airflow going out(into engine)
This due to the bad fitment onto the 'Y-pipe'.

Why not make them as i did?
Not spacing up the same amount all around, just space them up at front with a tapered spacer.

can you send pic of your setup please?

search for magic spacers. It is a very long thread about the intake spacers you posted. Some people swear by them others like myself can’t see how that could improve hp by the stated amounts they claim. Up to you it’s your car try it out report back. I will say that’s an expensive kit for just spacers and filters. Check out this site if you want those. https://www.vrpspeed.com/product-cat...amg-m156-6-2l/ I personally have the euro boxes and afe filters only. I did notice a difference with that setup. It’s oem but improved.

I´ll try to remember taking a pic this weekend.

I use K&N´s, they don´t seem to protrude into airstream as much as other brands from what i have seen.(more compact filter unit)

As you space up all the way around the Y-pipe doesn´t reach up and results in a bad kink in the rubbercouplings.
Doing it my way you get the flow into the airbox, and almost no disruption of flow going into the Y-pipe.

But!
Buttdyno says : no powergain
And as i said that, i need to dyno before and after to see if i gained anything at all.
Having a ~590hp engine and been gaining 2hp is hard to feel.

I just figured when i made them that every little bit counts, next mod that i should have done already is swap the Y-pipe for the older one(more area in those)
I also got an another mod in my mind, this is to buy another complete airboxes and let loose all my thoughts on them.
One is to increase the size of inlets and make bigger hoses into the front of the car.

I've been using Weistec dry filters. If you're concerned about removing the "obstruction" in the inlet, Weistec's air filters are much shorter than factory and therefore accomplish the same visual result as the spacers without compromising fitment.

As for the spacers themselves, until and unless there is some hard data that says otherwise, it's all placebo and BS.

Save yourself $500 bucks and put those dollars towards something that will actually create some equity of effort.

I.e. Lifters, headers, injectors, tune etc.
