Key fobs

2009 C63. I’ve always had an issue with one fob, always says change battery. Battery is alway fine. Cleaned all contacts, still same message. Anyone have same issue and know a fix? Thanks

Either a bad key, or you're keeping it too close to the antenna. A lot of new current production cars can't read the key if it's in the cup holder. If it's in your pocket then it's the key.

If you need an Extra key, do you HAVE to get it from the dealer or is there a way to program another key to your car?

I'm sure someone can program one somewhere but I was directed and had to go through dealership, was about $450 for new key.

Had to show title and registration as well to get order approved.

OP, I had that and I switched to a 2032 battery, after a day or so the message finally went away, not sure if that will work for your situation or not.

Was also going to mention that a CR2032 does fit. It's just a bit thicker than the original CR2025. Same voltage, but more capacity and should last longer.

They do fit. I put one in my accident when I first got the car. When it finally ran down many years later I had a tough time getting the battery out but it was doable.
