Strange power steering issue
Hose fail left all the fluid gone.
Limped home with no power.steering.
Hose repaired, fresh fluid, air bleed and all seemed good with no pump noise.
Left parked for a few hours or more (cold fluid) there is full power steering from idle.
When out and about (and presumably the fluid is hot) there is no power steering at parking speed - bit of rev with foot on brake assists but not perfect. Problem resolves itself when left for an extended park like overnight.
Pump in the last few days has not surprisingly developed a small whine so new pump, reservoir/filter and rack pressure sensor (it was cheap so why not) are on their way to me - not a job I am looking forward to.
Any thoughts as to the no power at hot idle issue? Anything else I need to look at or replace?

The PS pump is shot (overheated when you ran it dry w/ no fluid). Had the same thing happen on another car.
