Curious if anyone's actually heard of this anywhere either but I've always hated these kinds of guides but honestly couldn't think of a better composite to use either.

Would rather not find a ticker tape parade of plastic in my oil pickup filter.

 

the M156 guides are not known for issues as seen in video. they also mention this is a rare situation not commonly seen.

 

There was evidence if it being previously opened so who knows what some other muppet did.

 

also, the 2 chain design of the M156 with multiple tensioners is one of the best chain designs of any V8. possibly the best iteration as it also prevents chain stretch as it is always tensioned.
