PTG SC installed

Yo guys, this has been my dream build from few years and it's finally come true
Huge thanks to PTG they have been very patient and helpfull in guiding us installing g the kit.
Installation took us about a month, we had few issues which are common with any aftermarket parts I guess ....
Will be putting it on the Dyno very soon.

The kit layed out,so many parts! Kit is very well made...i also installed the weistec trans pan & SRG oil cooler

Manifold off

Fits perfectly! 4L unit iz badass!

Biggest heat exchanger i have seen! But still not enough for this bad boy

Relocated power steering reservoir

Oil cooler relocated to fit the huge heat exchanger

Crank pulley drilled to make 2 pins fit

Final Looks neat 👌

we were unlucky and received a defected fuel rail with a small hole which sprayed a lot of fuel ... were surprise to see this! Which was replaced very fast.

A tiny hole which was leaking fuel.

the only other issue was belt slip, it took us few days to get it right but now is pefect! Had to put a spacer for the tensioner pulley and hasnt moved ever since.

Was moving out

This spacer was all it needed.

Watch the video to see all the parts in the PTG kit

The car is extremely potent and ready to kill you once you mash the throttle! Lol .... it seriously is scary and this is my 1st ever supercharged car power experience and it's my own car.
it does run hot and gets heat soaked very easily... since I live in a hot conditions the temps now at 38°C ambient , the IATs were at 70°C......So I have ordered the Forced induction interchiller which will be installed very soon with a custom coolant reservoir for the SC which should hold 5-6 L under the hood.

Ready to be installed, eliminates the heat exchanger

Will keep you guys updated with pics on this installion.

Looks great that kit looks the best imo and the 4.0L is a badass blower. I would keep the heat exchanger and run it in a dedicated system just for the charge air cooling with the inter chiller.

Does the front engine cover fit with this supercharger kit? I am guessing it does but would need a new custom bracket to hold the front of it since you had to relocate the power steering.

I love the look of the ESS kits that you could get as it still looked oem with the full engine cover.

Nice job!

The cooling brick looks pretty small unfortunately so your IATs will probably never be good, especially if you decide to pulley down for more boost. Interchiller will obviously help on 93 octane. E85 is better than an Interchiller FYI… For comparison, here’s the brick on my Whipple 3.0:

where did you see a picture of the charge air cooling bricks on the ptg ?

Just look at the case… small case means small bricks…. I’m not knocking the blower, it’s just something to think about should you decide to turn up the boost. It likely was designed for cars in the 500-600 WHP and that’s a fun place to be. Just not sure where those will taper out, especially if the OP is seeing high IATs already.

the ptg is designed for 700+ whp. It would be hard to get it in the 500hp range... the vrp you have is in the 500-600hp range. I would bet the bricks in the ptg are larger than the hellcat ones in the vrp...
the 3.0 supercharger is more efficient and produced less heat than the 4.0 so I would think you would need less intercooler to keep charge temps cooler in that unit

I don’t have a VRP, not sure what you mean…? I’m at 1059 WHP in my Camaro with my Whipple 3.0 and not even spinning it hard… so much more to go…! I’m used to seeing Maggie 2650 or Whipple 3.0 bricks which dwarf everyone else’s offerings from what I’ve seen. So a blower designed for “700+” is likely gonna be a space heater if you shoot for big power. Totally agree the 3.0 rotor pack is more efficient than the older 4.0 pack… I suspect the VRP IATs will be better but I don’t own one to check out. And if you run E85 you really stop caring about IATs since alcohol needs some heat to vaporize properly. You can simply make so much more power. I’m making my 1059 at only E50 since my injectors are maxed out.

ahh I assumed you meant for this platform I see what you mean.yeah I wish someone made a kit with the 2650 although I suspect a good setup with the 3.0L would be in the same range and put up some big numbers as well

This looks massive and should be very cool… E85 is hard to get in my country and even meth is limited, so that’s the reason for the Interchiller…..

Interchiller recommends to eliminate the heat exchanger, it’s good only for circuit racing which I won’t be doing …. I’m making a custom 6-7L coolant tank for the chiller under the hood too keep me going for longer pulls
This is place were it will sit

Correct, if you run an Interchiller you do not want to run the heat exchanger… in a hot climate you’ll literally negate the Interchiller lol…

Update

Cut the crash guard and put a plate to hold the Interchiller

This is how it sits…. Think it’s the best way to fix it

Thanks for the cool write-up! Really good to see our supercharger systems running well around the world.

Lots of questions regarding intercooler sizes, and whats better or worse. Our system was designed around using the factory airbox which effectively removed a lot of space to put a much larger intercooler. Unfortunately, when designing around factory components, we always deal with these kind of compromises. We can however say, the intercooler and heat exchanger we use is the largest out the M156 supercharger systems.

We also have the easy possibility of providing a new upper lid since this was designed to be very modular (kudos to our design team for this) which can be lifted up about an inch, and it allows us to run a taller intercooler by that amount. These were all things we considered when building this system.

Either way, glad to see our kits out there.

nice to know you can modify it. So if you do a larger ontercooler you would just need to run a custom intake ?

No other modifications would be needed. Just a new intercooler brick and a new supercharger lid.

Guys we finished installing the FI Interchiller and coolant temps are 2 C…
I will do data logging and check IATs..

Running on a basic intercooler pump and a 2L tank.

I will upgrade the pump and get a higher capacity tank very soon!

This is a union fitting AC gas line that goes directly to chiller

Can see condensation

Looks good. What capacity tank are you going to use? You going to do a dyno after? Interested in what your setup is putting down

The tank we are coming up with should hold 5-5.5L,Yes will be doing a dyno very shortly… Looking forward to see what it will put down….

Guys finally got the dyno results. My car gained 264WHP! Same dyno, same fuel….. very happy with the outcome

Torque monster! They said it bogged at 6k should check

Fi Interchiller iced AC lines and working hard

Nope, no misfires… actually cut off was bcz the car moved on dyno, we did road test it and it did redline

ok, under your picture you wrote that it “bogged at 6K rpm” so was just clarifying.
