It's just to monitor tire pressure on normal tires. I don't think anyone would run run flats on one of these cars. The first thing I did on my wife's 435 was to get rid of them and buy her a compact spare. There a lots of great tire choices, but a lot of us run Michelin Pilot Sports.
Probably not gonna get meaty on a 19" wheel on one of these cars. At least not in the rear. It's what happens when they put a high performance car in a base model body.
I have similar (maybe the same?) wheels shown on the e90 in your post. The fronts are 19x8.5 et35, and rears are 19x9.5 et42.
The tires are Pilot Sport 4S, 245/35R19 front and 265/30R19 rear. (The rear picture was taken before the wheels were powder coated).
The car is lowered on H&R springs, with Koni Sport struts/shocks, which lowered it another ~10mm in the front.
The rear fenders are rolled and some of the stuff in the wheel well has been trimmed. It rubbed quite a bit before that.
