Woke up this morning to smoke and an electrical smell coming from under the hood... Couldn't tell exactly where the smoke was coming so i scanned the codes and it read "P2317 – Ignition coil F, secondary circuit".
Im having trouble figuring out if cylinder F is the 6th cylinder, or the 6th cylinder to fire, which would be the 3rd cylinder...

Just says "coil F". Im just assuming that corelates to a cylinder number. Going to pull the coils tomorrow or Tuesday when I have some time to take a look. Kind of odd this is happening as I put in new coils and plugs about 2½ weeks ago now and all was good til yesterday morning. Originally Posted by Adi-Benz

Have you tried Googling the code number? I'm sure you will find something...

I did. Altho the smoke is coming from cylinder 2 or 3 from the front on the passenger side. Pulling the coils tomorrow as I'll have a little time.Originally Posted by DRBC43AMG
