my background: I own a cl45, but I've extensively driven all ranges of MB, from a GLA250 to a C63 204 & 205.

The C63se does a lot of things right for me. 4WD is a good thing if you live anywhere above Washington. I'd never buy a car above 75k and not be able to daily it ANY DAY of the year. The hybrid powertrain geta me a few perks like silent driving, access to reserved lanes that save 15min in commute and decent fuel economy. The 206 c-lass in general is nicely build, I appreciate the technology, interior and exterior much more than the previous generation, which I've interacted with extensively.

Here's where it fell apart for me:

AMG promised 30miles of electric only and a 670 hp number, creating a great power-to-weight ration. The truth is that you get a tiny battery and you only get 670 HP at BOOST. The car is 2.2 tons. And you only get 569 HP to go with this most of the time. If I buy this, it will effectively be my CLA + 600KG 90% of the time. On top of that, it somehow sounds worst than the CLA45. Effectively, you're promised a less engaging drive for more money. This setup is more of a 206 C43 + Boost (10% of the time). The c43 is always reviewed as a boring boaty drive. The tech, 4WS and look arent able to overcome this.

As such, ill be getting a SL which is a step up in the "small but zippy" car territory. It has all the tech perks of the C63 too. Only downside is the larger bill, insurance and consumption. Maintenance is the same with the prepaid package
Thanks for sharing your experience

I mean, you do have other options, like the W206 C 43, it has 408 horses but with a lot more weight while your CLA 45 had like 385 or 382 if I recalled correctly. The rear wheel steering of the W206 C 43 will make the car feel nimble and zippy as well, there are many positive reviews in the W206 C 43 ordering guide thread from actual owners, plus it is already available in the States so you can test drive one today, looks like inventory is moving slowly too so you might be able to get good discounts: https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...-guide-72.html

If you like the CLA 45 and actually wanted to keep it but yet wanted more power you could also consider the facelift which the CLA 45 S is coming to the States.

Regarding to the C 63 S E Performance's boost and battery being depleted resulting in lower horsepower, someone here mentioned the battery charges super quickly and therefore you will have that available rather quickly again, they mentioned it is like a capacitor but I don't know if it is true or not.

Wow. Crazy that he was able to put a deposit down that early...

That said doesnt look like hes posted anything about the car since then.

I only put mine down in Sept 2022.

Well, I mean the dealership won't say no if they are offered free money? I wonder if that deposit really did something back then as the vehicle didn't exist.

Yeah. Precisely my thoughts. I guess inevitably youre at the dealer or SAs mercy. You hope they are on top of their game and putting in the official deposit or "order" when it first becomes available. It is set to be a 2024 model so either way we wont be seeing it here for a long time to come.

Still looking forward to seeing the W206 C 43 next month (hopefully), or this month if I am greedy. I think that is a car I am shopping for too. If not the wait for the C 63 S E Performance and CLA 45 S... Last but not least a CLE

Yeah, I definitely want to see the C43 in person and test drive if possible. Sucks that its taking so long to be released here and people have already been getting deliveries in the States.

CLE63 S E is going to look great I think. Esp with the flared rear arches... I just dont want to wait another 2 years for that to arrive in Canada haha. Im sure once it gets released I will be second guessing bc of how good it looks.

I am really hoping the CLE gets announced soon since it takes more than a year to get to Canada so the sooner it is announced/revealed the better of course :/ but then the 63 models might take even longer like a year and half, hopefully that is no longer the case but that is the worse case scenario.

Yeah. Would be nice if it wasnt a long wait. Its hard to predict with MB what their timeline is. Heres hoping its not a long wait to announcement. But that is honestly the reason I am looking at the sedan. I have the C43 coupe now and the coupe style just looks so good. Also looks more "sports car" vibe. The sedan is more under the radar.

Here is hoping the W206 C 43 arrives to Canada next month, if the C 300 launch here is in any indication.

I am guessing no clue when the ordering guide is available either for Canada?

My guess is it will be another while and you may wanna seriously reconsider buying the first model year. The official European release was significantly delayed, because they continue to have issues with the powertrain. This most likely held up the homologation for North America. There are some early reports of C43 with faulty electric turbos and there's no ETA on replacement parts.

Well, if we have to talk about the W206 C 43, the USA launch too was delayed for many times, and that is despite cars sitting at the VPC for many months. Some forum members here actually flew a drone if I recalled correctly inside to peek at the cars they had been waiting so long for and still no clue when it will be released and that was a month before it actually got released.

Maybe the W206 C 63 S E Performance won't have this issue but you never know and speaking of the W206 C 43, there were several reports of check engine lights, I believe one incident of vehicle stalling as well, jerky transmissions (although some forum members don't experience issues so that is good).

A45 AMG
The new C 63 S is such a joke and such an awful value proposition, that you are either crazy or stupid to buy it. It keeps none of the factors that make an AMG an AMG, its crazy complex, its crazy expensive and fugly. A ****ty overstressed 4 cylinder engine, with a crazy complex and heavy hybrid system that adds so much weight the car has the weight of an AMG GT 63 S.

Its awful, it represents everything wrong with the current Mercedes line up and its ****ty products. The brand has lost its way. I am proud to say I own a W 204 C 63 AMG. I would never be proud of owning this awful 4 cylinder jokes.

I hope it flops miserably so Mercedes learns that we don't want stupid screens, stupid gimmicks, the stupid TikTok integration (WTF), we want V8 cars with awesome build quality, with the usual Mercedes smell, and refinement. Not some overpriced joke. To make matters worse, Mercedes even screwed up their build quality, the W206 feels 2 cuts below the W205/W204 in build quality. Such a shame.
