My dealer sent me some info on the car. They mentioned "late Q2 release "for the C63 SE. They also have 4 builds on order two of which already have a VIN #.
They also said, "The all-new C 63 S E PERFORMANCE will be offered exclusively as a model year 2024 with a limited production run of 75 units."
So seems like maybe just a single year production. Also the mention of only 75 units in Canada was interesting to hear.
My dealer sent me internal documentation from MB Canada. In the document it stated "late Q2 release "for the C63 SE. They also have 4 builds on order two of which already have a VIN #.
The document did however say "The all-new C 63 S E PERFORMANCE will be offered exclusively as a model year 2024 with a limited production run of 75 units."

An exclusive run of only 75 for a single model year is effectively dead. That's a huge homologation cost for something that isn't exotic. MB spending all this money to homologate a $100k something car for only 75 units is not very good business, but I suppose if the homologation has already been done, then maybe selling 75 will at least reduce the loss. Maybe the margin on these is enough to come out even, provided they manage to sell them all w/o massive discounts.

Hopefully not all that time spending on development of this car is wasted, the E Performance drivetrain R&D like you already know might had already been used on other models such as the S 63 E Performance.

Those are the V8 E Performance powertrains, but even models with those don't seem to be on sale. The GT 63 S E for example has been out for something like over two years. I think I heard that it's finally coming to the USA, but I still haven't seen one this side of the pond. The S 63 E is also not being sold yet as far as I know.

S63E is already on sale in Europe, been for a few months. Still no GT63E for the US, I'm starting to see vins show up for US S63E, and GT63E is supposedly coming to the US this year.
That Tok Tok's information was obvioulsy questionable at best, they clearly didn't know that the car wasn't even released for sale yet. Still, it will defintiely be a massive flop. maybe there will be some good lease deals to had if they jack up the residual unrealstically.
They have put a stop and hold on deliveries and orders in Brazil.
So I guess, more powertrain issues and other issues to be sorted out.
First arrival and deliveries were for May, now it has been extended to July.
I know its not selling, but I think MB doesn't really care as well, given this lazy approach worldwide and the constant delays and stop-sale orders.
Yeah that’s crazy to hear especially if it’s true that they just released the car to dealers in USA. One would hope the issues are or were addressed before releasing it.

BMW launches car simultaneously between US and Brazil. Mercedes doesn't, usually we get cars 2-3 months after.
I think the cars hitting the showroom floor in the US might be fully addressed with the latest crop of issues. I don't know.
I know for one, that there have been massive delays due to issues with the car.
