Took it to the Track

Run it at one of the most challenging tracks out there. The car did really well handling wise. The instructor was pretty impressed. I realize everyone is obsessed with the number of cylinders, but perhaps the only time I felt it was coming out of very sharp turn. The Michelin S4 are great whatever left of them.
I took a video with a camera activated via Track Pace, so I do have the speed and other parameters displayed, but I forgot to save it in the track pace on mbux / phone as I was busy. But next time I'll add it to the existing list so it should aid me in driving as it instructs you with optimum points to break and to accelerate.

With Race Start

0-60 = 4.25. but this car didn't have 20' wheels / Pilot Sport 4 tires, so couldn't get the best traction.

I couldn't do that because F1 track didn't have any straights.

19's come with PS4S.

Please try not to be so biased.

Looks good mate. Did you end up taking any Track Pace data? How'd you go with tire pressures?

Yes this time I got everything recorded and analyzed. Although there are more options that I haven't used but will the next time.
It was an unusually hot day for us here, so I started with around 35-36 psi and ended up with a low 40s. The tires got very hot and the brakes were burning after about 8 or 10 laps. I had about 30 mins cooldowns couple of times. The car was really great especially entering and taking the turns, but on coming out, it could've used more power.
Up here we only have another month or so before the end of the season though.

Anything you can share from the Track Pace? Keen to see how the Track Pace data actually looks from the track.

Did you find the issue was not enough power overall, or was it more the power delivery wasn't ideal out of corners?

It's not easy to do since it's in a proprietary file format that cannot be posted here, or read by any other app. But I will try to post a screenshot later on.

Just not enough HP, the delivery is fine, although perhaps if shifted manually, might make some difference, it's next on my list to try.
It's just most people there race Ferrari and 911 GTs so the car could use another 100 hp .

This is a review of A45 but it describes exactly how C43 feels on the track. The suspension setup and the engine should be very similar. USA C43 doesn't have a Race mode but German one does, so perhaps it could be coded.

So I am adding the Race mode. Will try to have it done by the next track day.
It's part of the dynamic plus package in Germany.
"The package bundles high-performance components for a noticeable and visible increase in sportiness. From the AMG performance steering wheel of your choice to dynamic AMG engine mounts to the “RACE” driving program, everything that thrills sports drivers is on board."

Keen to hear how it goes on the track, keep us updated.

Since having Race mode coded I’ve only done regular street driving but it seems well worth adding. Just a shame that we don’t have the active engine mounts which are also available on the 2024 build C43.

I didn't know you already got it. You really feel the difference comparing to S+?
Did you use Windows or MAC with VM?

Yep, the photo I posted was from my car.

Throttle response and shift points improve in Race. In all honesty the shift points in Race mode when the gearbox is in auto are a bit too aggressive for the street, continually wants to drop down gears to bring the engine into the power band. Race also unlocks Pro / Master AMG Driving Dynamics.

I use Windows, so relatively straightforward to set up the remote coding session.

@AMPERAGE Hey how soon after coding is done did you get the Race Mode actually activated?
Also got Digital Lights coded with extras while I was at it.

It was pretty much instant, I could see and select Race mode while still in the coding session. Is your activation taking a while to show up?

However there was definitely something happening with the activation in the background - for the first few minutes I couldn’t see Race mode, then I could only access Race mode through the dynamic select button, not MBUX, then it appeared in MBUX but the icons were out of place. Looked like it was just going through some sort of install/activation process.

After the coding was done, I did lock the car and leave it overnight before driving it though, not sure if some of the activation took place while the car was in sleep mode.
