C 63 S W205 vs C 63 S W206 Drag Race (Car Wow)
Darn impressive showing from the C 63 S W205, a lot closer compared to what the specs would suggest.
Although gotta say, I was impressed with the top end from the C 63 S W206.

That said, I am not one of those so if W205 C 63 S had a 4MATIC option, I would had got it over the C 43, need it for Canadian winters.
Back to the video... I wonder why he didn't use the facelift C 63 S.

If you want straight line performance, you get an electric vehicle or EQ model, MB fails to understand customers' needs.

Also would have been interested to see what happened if he put the W206 in Drift mode (RWD only mode) to see if that levelled the playing field at all.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Basically I was talking about e-diff that the facelift non S now also has when it was exclusive to the S version pre-facelift, without realizing we were talking about the S version all along.
So basically there are no real/any changes to the differential between facelift and pre-facelift for the S. I guess other than the 3000 mile fluid change is no longer required?
The traction system and the transmission differences you mentioned should be the only differences that mattered in this race. There is of course all the technology like light differences, suspension comfort differences but I guess it wouldn't had mattered for this race.
Thanks for your explanation on the transmission differences.

There are differences to the e-diff in the FL. It's faster acting than in the PFL and is now controlled by the new AMG DYNAMICS chassis dynamics system. So it's much more integrated in the overall dynamics of the car as well as the 9-stage TC. Definitely a bunch of improvements. The FL is better at putting down the power in general.
Regardless of that I couldn't care less over a 1/2 second gap when I'm listening to the glorious roar of a V8 instead of...something better off not mentioning at all.
