We're discussing the topic over there, but nobody from AMG has said anything confirming/denying it.
Can someone link to The PL, please?

I think you need a VIN to register/see the board, if I remember correctly.

Yeah and I noticed the M3 ended up being portlier than initially advertised:

Curb Weight - Automatic transmission - 3595 lbs

Curb Weight - Manual transmission - 3540 lbs

I'm sure BMW's numbers are on the low side, too.

Keep in mind, that's measured in DIN Curb, Germany's units. BMW claims it comes in at 3300. Somehow, I doubt that, and I'm sure it's going to be heavier once reviewers can get their hands on them and test them out and weight them. I'm interested to see how heavy the C63 is going to be. Hoping they make that V8 as light as possible.

Those taillights are horrible. Way too soft for the car. The blobish shape looks like it belongs on the CLA or CLS more than a proper sedan.

It's a boosted motor, so the exhaust note will be different, but I'm betting it will be along the lines of the 5.5L V8 in the E63 AMG.

Does anyone have experience with AMG Carbon Ceramic brakes? Are they noisy?

Thanks,Benyl, did not attend the chat session as out of my geographical location but did not see it anywhere else on the PL.
Personally it is not a deal breaker for me as long as it has the 4Matic.

What It Is:

The spiced-up version of Mercedes-Benz’s already tasty 2015 C-Class sedan, making its inevitable spy shot debut in Europe. Just as the standard C-class is a shrink-wrapped version of the S-class, the C63 AMG will look like a scaled-down S63 AMG, with similarly gaping outboard front air intakes, LED headlamps, and an integrated rear diffuser housing quad exhaust tips. The new C63 AMG does not receive wider bodywork, but new thin-spoke wheels, chunky brake discs, and a trunklid spoiler are clearly visible. A single horizontal blade bisects the grille, while the vaned air extractors from the front bumper of the outgoing C63 have disappeared.

We can’t see the interior in these pictures, but you can bet your last pfeffernüsse that it will pack aggressive sports seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and sundry upgraded materials. Also, in keeping with most other AMG models, expect the gear selector to relocate to the center console.

Why It Matters: The C63 AMG is Mercedes-Benz’s answer to the iconic BMW M3 and its M4 sibling, which were just redesigned for 2015, and it will also stare down Cadillac’s upcoming ATS-V. As the cheapest way into a rear-drive AMG product, the C63 serves as a pillar of Mercedes’ performance-car family. It also will be built as a coupe and possibly a convertible for America, a new wagon version for Europe, and a Black Series model.

Platform: Based as it is on the latest W205 C-class, the C63 AMG shares much of its underlying architecture with the E- and S-class sedans. The C63 will launch with rear-wheel drive, but a 4MATIC all-wheel-drive version could appear sometime down the road.

Powertrain: In the interest of reducing its relentless thirst, the 2015 C63 AMG will downsize from its hairy-chested, naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V-8 to a twin-turbocharged, 4.0-liter V-8. (Pour one out for the 6.2—it was one of God’s own engines.) Output likely will rise to somewhere between 460 and 500 horsepower, putting some distance between the hot C and the turbocharged inline-six-powered M3, which has 425. The only transmission will be Mercedes’ seven-speed Speedshift automatic transmission, which uses a multiplate clutch instead of a torque convertor. Paddle shifters and launch control will be part of the deal, too.

Competition: Cadillac ATS-V, BMW M3/M4, Lexus IS F.

Estimated Arrival and Price: When Mercedes lets a thinly disguised prototype out on public roads, the official unveiling usually isn’t far off, so we expect a photo and info dump soon. The in-the-metal debut is almost certainly scheduled for this fall’s Paris auto show. The new C63 AMG should arrive at dealers by the first quarter of 2015, with base prices starting in the low- to mid-$60K range.

It doesn't look like this generation C63 will be getting flared fenders or a wider, more muscular track compared to the normal C, but this car still looks amazing.

It's going to be the stealth, grocery-getting M3/M4 assassin.

Must say I'm a bit worried. AMG has had a great run starting with the soon to be replaced C63. The following E63, SLS AMG have all been great cars. The M156 engine is / was magical and even the 157 managed to be pretty special despite the turbos.

But I'm a bit worried here that the new generation cars might be a bit dumbed down and boring. No flared arches, steering mounted shifter, no wider track, no DCT and so on. A lot is obviously speculation at this point, but I'm feeling a bit worried. Let's pray to god that we're not heading towards a PRE W204 AMG era.

The W204 had flared arches, the W205 doesn't. The flared arches has nothing to do with AMG, its not like the C class didn't have flared arches and AMG added flared arches to the C63.

Steering mounted shifter, just because a pic was taken of a mule with both a steering shifter and a console shifter doesn't mean that it will get the steering mounted shifter.

If the C63 is released without a wider track its because it doesn't need it. They run the car through the nurburgring for a reason.

I agree about the DCT... anything but the current outdated transmission which everyone hates.

They could launch this car in smurf blue and I'd still buy it. Oh wait, BMW already did that.

I'm a fan of bite over bark.
