Agreed. Who knows if that will be the production shifter though. I hope not.

Will it be a deal breaker for me? No.

I personally love the way the car looks. Once these enter production, the W204 will start to look dated fast (especially the interior).

So long as it is an improvement in the performance area, it will be on my list. I have a feeling it will drive circles around the W204.

Shouldn't be a shock either. There will be more torque, more power, and less weight.

I wouldn't say alone it's a deal breaker. Combine that with what sounds like no AWD and DCT and its got a lot of strikes in my book.

I agree it should run circles around the W204 just not sure it's for anymore me. I'm done for a least a year anyways since I decided to trade the C63 in for a CLA45 but the F80 M3 would be ahead for me at the moment. Time will tell!

 

My guess is that the new c63 will have same shifter as e63/cls63/cla45/a45....guys this is just a prototype of the car in testing stages and I bet different cars have different setups for testing purposes... they will not fit test cars in production guise.
Re: transmission, I believe that MCT will find its way in this car until facelift happens than will switch to whatever they will come with.

 

S63 console....no shifter....

 

That is not news, the S63 has never had had a console shifter in the first place.

I will be very shocked if the C63 doesn't have one. I would hate to see it with one. I have seen the W205 with the console shifter and it ruins the new classy interior IMO.

So while I don't think that any modern car should have a console shifter and I would love to see the C63 without a console shifter. I doubt that we will.

btw... I am LOVING the new AMG steering wheel!

 

I'm not saying its news....what I'm saying is that the real estate can serve a better purpose...especially in an automatic car.

 

I really want them to offer Mystic Blue. My favorite of Mercedes Blues.

 

A design feature that I love is the integrated exhausts. I think it really makes the car stand out.

You guys wanting a console shifter aren't getting it. It is going on the column because of the new infotainment system. No room for the shifter to be down on the console.

 

They seem to have made it work with a regular manual C class. I'm still holding out hope!

 

Console shifter is gone. Pretty much 100% confirmed on PL Lounge.

 

I hate the ipad on the dash.

The picture that the OP posted has the center console for the W205 manual console shifter that is sold in Europe and other countries.

The center console for a console shifter does not have a clock and the column shifter center console has a clock.

My money is on the console shifter for the C63. However if the C63 has a column shifter then my money may be in the dealers hands and the C63 in my garage.

 

Where is it confirmed on the PL?

We're discussing the topic over there, but nobody from AMG has said anything confirming/denying it.
