no awd for 2015 c63 w205

Just spoke to 2 dealers this friday. Both of them said no awd versions of the new c63 for 2015. One said they had given back deposits to people who wanted an awd c63. The other dealer said there would be an awd version in 2016. As always, this is what was told to me over the phone. Whether this is accurate remains to be seen.

This months Motor Trend said the C63 and new GT will be exceptions to the AMG AWD push.

No surprise. The AMG chief Tobias Moers confirmed no AWD (upon launch) months ago. Nobody believed him though.

Yet people listen to dealers instead??? Makes zero sense considering they are usually the last people in the loop.

It varies.
I have seen two new C Class 205's so far & they look great. I think everyone will want a C63 when they become available, they will be fantastic!

Coupe will come along one year later in all probability. So the good news is that you will likely be able to buy a 2015 w204 coupe with the 6.3 na engine if you dont like the 4.0 tt motor in the new c63 w205 sedan.

Mercedes-AMG C63S Edition 1
Based of what my sales man, and the manager of the dealership that I go to say there AWD will be available on the new C63. Might not be available at launch, but a bit after the launch it'll be available.

that would be kind of weird if they offered the 6.3 while also offering the 4.0

C204 C250-CDI
That is correct re the C Class above, the C204 coupe variants will continue to be produced and supplied until the new C205 coupe is introduced, which does look like being the case for around 12 or more months after the W205 production start time.

Cars.
I can't wait until the aftermarket gets their hands on the 4.0TT engine.

I think the best of both worlds would be a C63AMG TT and a C63AMG TT AWD option but for now, C63 RWD only

Ugh, not sure if I want to run a torquey RWD in a midwest winter, especially if it's anything like last winter. I drove my NA 6.2L C63 one winter and it was ok, but the torque levels were much lower of course.
