Did you already negotiate a price? I've never done it like this, but am wondering if you put down a deposit on a vehicle you have never seen or don't know the price on.... Can you negotiate a discount at this time or wait?

nope not yet. but considering its ordered to your liking plus its a brand new car you'll be lucky if you get it at MSRP. Most places will most likely be doing mark ups.

They dont know the price until the car comes in so you cant really negotiate. You should have an idea of what it should be and go from there...

Not true. Some dealers will negotiate based on a percentage off MSRP or a certain amount above or below the invoice.

Most won't, its a new body AMG car. They know it's wanted so they won't be negotiating much. They don't mass produce them and they know it so they have the upper hand.

It's definitely possible, may be difficult w/ low volume dealers for the first run of production, but if you're a loyal customer at a larger volume dealer I wouldn't accept having to pay MSRP. It's not a limited edition car.

If I put a deposit in, it will have to be fully refundable and I'll negotiate the purchase price when the ordering is available.

Educated car buyers negotiate for a number above dealer invoice.
MSRP is for those who coudn't care less about a few thousand dollars.
I don't pay MSRP based on principal because I'm in the business.
