Will the C63 AMG be easily tuned to push 550+ RWHP?
it is supposed to be 425 to the wheel with the 15 percent drive train loss at the 503 hp but i think Mercedes is going to underrate it.
so what does the S stand for in the AMG models? Superfast

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
But yes, just want to be clear, doubling the m133 output has nothing to do with the ceiling for the m177/178.
550whp is likely attainable with a tune, but I would not expect a whole bunch more without some contributing mods.
The ceiling? Only one way to find out. Push it til it breaks.
Just my personal thought, not based on anything but supposition. Fire at will.

^^^^ This is absolutely correct according to information I've been given

Same block and internals so far for both M177 & M178 and these blocks are definitely built like tanks resembling diesel blocks which I'm all too familiar with.
The new engine has been built with a huge margin for power and torque expansion as it will eventually be used in all other AMG models for the foreseeable future.
Except for MB/AMG insiders we won't know exactly how much the current overall combination can produce, it is usually at least 20-25% more than the starting point with FI engines, later it may require different induction and exhaust etc. OEM upgrading as time rolls on with newer future models.
Although I believe future powertrains of performance vehicles will go hybrid like what's already beginning to happen, we may very well see the next gen 206 or 207 AMG's running even smaller displacement internal combustion petrol engines mated to electric power plants.

I make a prediction that within a year of general release that this car will break 10's with slightly larger turbo's and sticky tires.
By the look of things the turbos would flatline fairly quickly with aggressive mapping. If i would guess a standard tune will bump it to around 620hp and 650tq. with upgraded turbo's and cooling i see 700hp and 750tq easily. With peak hp around 5700rpm and peak TQ around 3100rpm
Thats if they can crack the tq limiter and ECU. Can't wait to see what they do. 2cents
Torque output will be the limiting factor for the transmission and FI engines always produce massive torque compared to NA.
From literature I've read the MCT for the 205 series C63's has been beefed up internally so it's torque handling will be over and above the 204 series MCT's

That's some awesome -- but scary math. Wow....
