MBUSA poor handling of release

I know there is another thread similar to this, but I want to express my disappointment with how MBUSA is handling the C63 W205 release.

Here are my issues:

1) Order Banks Open: Dec 2014 on their dealer guide ...where are the order banks?

2) Start of production: March 2015....If this is true and they are making the vehicles, how come there is no definite order guide?

3) Retail Release: March 2015: Uh, its the middle of march, no info

4) If they are building them, how come we don't know the pricing to know what to order?

5) By the time people get their cars, wouldn't the 2016 be out?

Now, I know we are all excited about the car, but this is really silly of MBUSA. Very poor handling...

Is MBUSA this dumb? Poor information....

To be honest, I'm not even excited anymore.

You can go place your order at the dealership by you. They will take the order.
The order guide is out. You can order a car. You just won't know the price.

I agree with you on everything else though. I mean I already did order my car but I would like to know how much it's gonna be. It's really frustrating. The only thing I know is I should be getting it in April. I'm excited for my car frustrated with the whole process though. Mbusa really ****ed ip.

I shared my thoughts about this already but as a consumer of luxury car brands like Porsche, Aston Martin, Range Rover I become spoiled by how other brands treat you. I hear that the service on MB is in par with other brands but so far its a total disappointment. I wish I had the energy to contact press and start a social media, twitter campaign. I know as a fact that MBUSA is monitoring the conversation but the perception I have is that they don't give a damn about us.

You can't order a C63, just a C63s....like I said, poor handling and bad communications from MBUSA.

The problem is, they need to set better expectations.

As far as order guide, it is out, but it isn't the final one with all the options and on top of it, no pricing of options...Why would I put an order in if I don't know the Carbon package is $1 or $5000...it's dumb.

I'm actually wondering if they're putting it off as much as possible to see where the dollar's going. It's gotten stronger and stronger over the past month and that gives MB a bunch of headroom to price aggressively vs. the competition.

+1

A great point. I definitely understand the frustration felt by those with pending orders but if MB is waiting so that they can price the car aggressively, they may attract/lure even more customers away from competitors.

Yeah, its tough. Its even harder to find knowledgeable dealers out there. Most of them are in the dark. The dealer I chatted with yesterday basically said give me your nonrefundable $1500 and I'll call you when I hear something. Perhaps MB sees this (keeping everyone in the dark, including employees) as a legitimate business strategy -- but its not one I'm familiar with.

This is nothing new. The last C63 was a disaster at launch. I remember a whole bunch of cars shipped with missing options. The sticker would say it had certain option package, but 1-2 items were missing on the actual car of that package. People were having to visually check to see if they got what they paid for.

Yup, this is a trend. For the 507 edition, some dealers weren't even aware that the coupe version was still available after the sedan was discontinued. When at the AMG factory tour, we expressed frustration at the lack of info MBUSA had with respect to AMG customizations (AMG can customize any fleet Mercedes model), option packages and availability of new models. They just sort of smiled and nodded, not looking surprised at all

Waiting to order

Hi all,

I spoke with my salesman and he called MB while I was there. This is what he told me:

All C63's and C63S's will be 2016's
Orders will be taken in May
Production will start after that ramping up to full production in July
Release date in late July, but more probable in August.

This is my first MB, so I'm new to the process. But I'm excited about ordering exactly what I want. Given all my options are included.

Other cars considered:
Caddy ATS-V and CTS-V, not to happy with their service dept., new owner
BMW M3 and M5, worst dealer service ever (wife had X6)
Infiniti Eau Rouge, great dealer but car isn't going into production
MB E AMG, new one coming out as 2017. Can't wait.
Tesla P85D, not certain on range, with my driving and company lifespan?
Audi RS7, to heavy and to expensive the way I wanted it ($147K plus)

Considering picking it up at plant, in Alabama. Has anyone done that?
Thanks

Interesting. This is the first I've heard of this and even though it would make sense and I would welcome it BIGTIME I will have to remain sceptical.

I don't think that's true at all.
