That's the reason I'd skip getting the CF trim. For $1,300, it really should include the door panels and not the aluminum which I personally find a bit cheap in appearance. It's also hard to pick it over the open pore black ash trim which looks arguably looks better, comes with matching door panels, and is free!

Seems price is high if it is just center console... Hhhmmm, may have to reconsider and get black ash. They should remedy the website asap. Customers will be upset if they get a car without the CF side panels.

It does show it without CF on the door panels in the DOG and the AMG site. Also, CF is not cheap and if it was on all of the interior it would be very expensive. It's $2,850 on the CLS/E 63 AMG vehicles. I chose CF because I love the look of it.

I agree. I'm a fan of the CF look especially in a performance car. I think I will probably stick with the CF because it does look very nice in this car particularly. They did a great job with the center console

OK, that is starting to make sense because BMW and Porsche charge less for their CF and it is put in more places. I know, at least in the Caymans, you get it on the sides and dash for less than what Mercedes is charging on the C63S.( Although the C63S needs more CF since it's a sedan)
Edit: People are saying that's not the case and the sides are aluminum. Oh well, we'll find out soon.

since everyone is saying the gloss black scratch easily compared to the open pore black ash, is it the same case for CF? since it looks glossy, will it also scratch like the gloss black ?

That piano black on my 507 shows scratches / swirls in the clear coat pretty easily due to the reflection off the black surface. It's not as reflective on the CF. Not saying take a key to it to find out, but it should hold up better:
