JP, will you stick with changing the oil every 10000 miles as the book states or more frequently.
I found this report this morning. Quote; The company said some regular BMW motors can consume up to a quart every 750 miles, and M series performance engines can use up to 2.5 quarts per 1,000 miles under certain conditions.

Straight cut/paste from the 2015 C-Class Owner's Manual:
Depending on your driving style, the vehicle
consumes up to 0.9 US qt (0.8 liters) of oil per
600 miles (1,000 km). The oil consumption
may be higher than this when the vehicle is
new or if you frequently drive at high engine
speeds.

curious to see what the used oil analyses will look like for these 4 liter DI turbo engines as people start to put miles on them and get onto the second/third changes. 10k mile intervals will probably still be overkill. imo Merc wouldn't recommend 10k if it weren't on the safe side of things. so many of their service recommendations seem like overkill but i guess at the minimum offer peace of mind.

I just ordered a 16 C63S to be delivered about 1st of Sept. Black with the pepper red performance seats. Twin spoke/exhaust/HUD/etc.
I see you are going to change oil at 3k intervals and MB says about 10k
I am good with that and the rear diff change at 2k but what about the first change on the transmission? I'm thinking early on the first one but when?
What is everyone's feed back on that?

I just noticed this and it may have been addressed in this thread already but.......the center cap you have on your wheels has the MB logo in the middle and then a silver/grey area where the lug bolts go. Mine is not like that, I have the same wheels but my MB logo is attached to a black insert that covers the lug bolts.......does that make sense? I wonder why they are different.

No. I personally use one every time I wash the car. I always use a foam bath prior to washing since that removes all of the dirt. You have to learn how to use one. You don't want to start blowing wheel weights off.

JP - just wanted to say, awesome thread, love your car and appreciate all the detail you've gone to and all the pics provided - right down to the cleaning products used for its first new car protection wash.
I'm an Audi man and always have been. I bought my wife an SLK recently for her birthday and after driving it a few times, I was amazed how much sheer driving pleasure I got from her little 1.8T SLK in comparison to my 510BHP Stage 2 Audi S4. Yes by numbers and stats my car kills hers, and yet I want to drive hers all the time...![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Anyways I've now ordered a C63S with all the option packs and I get it in Sept. I liked your thread so much and the look of your car that I've gone the same route. My first new car ever, and my first Merc. I'm sure it will be a pleasurable relationship for some time![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Thanks to all the peeps on the forum, the information, and sharing and general candid approach to discussions is awesome!
