Hmmm, didn't know that. I also thought the Michelins were the standard. Thanks for the pics JP...! By the way, if you guys are done with those black forge wheels, I'll take them off your hands.

Sorry but I called first dibs on them!! Haha...They are rather hard to clean. They remind me of my 2011 E92 M3 Competition Wheels. Beautiful but a disaster to maintain.

JPMBenz - I have the same issue on my 507 matte black wheels - I use soap and water but they never come out clean

A buddy said to go ahead and use a cleaner, but I'm afraid I'll kill the finish
How do I get it back to showroom condition!?

I do have Tire and Wheel warranty - but not really sure what that covers - maybe they can clean them for me professionally?

This is a known issue with our cars. Here is what I would do if I were you. I purchase everything from Detailers Domain. Phil is a great guy and has excellent pricing.

1) Look into getting Sonax Wheel Cleaner. It does have a weird smell but works well. It was also designed to work well with German wheels. Sonax turns purple to let you know it's going to work. I also would look into Adams Wheel Wash as well. Apparently, it works just as well and doesn't smell as bad.

2) Apply Adams All Purpose to your tires to remove the excess dirty. Use a tough brush to remove the dirt.

3) Use a pressure washer to remove everything. Be careful you do not blow off your wheel weights! I have had people do that.

4) After all of that; wash your wheels weekly with a car wash soap. Always use the Adams All Purpose to clean the tires.

Hopefully this helps.

hard to clean and maintain because of the color ? texture? or because of the nook and crannies you have to get to in the multi-spoke wheels?

Good chemicals and elbow grease keep my wheels clean, the trick is not let the brake dust to "cake on". I also avoid any and all tire shine, that **** attracts dirt.

I was told by a detailer to clean them as good as you can and then wax them. Supposedly keeps them a bit cleaner plus makes them easier to clean.

That is correct. I also wipe off excess tire shine.

Nook and Crannies. My M3 wheels always had dirt somewhere! LOL

Wax can work however it can also attract dust. Most "wax" products are oil based. You may want to try a sealant instead.

Will post some pics shortly. I can't wait to detail it on Sunday. I will be taking delivery in about a week or so. I am installing some small mods/clear bra first.

Congrats! I've really wanted to see some good pics of Iridium silver on this car (w/o the Ed 1 red). Although I personally do like the red accents as well...

Thank you! Yes, the NSP is worth every penny. On the lighter colored cars, it's worth it!

Haha yes to me it's dirty. I am OCD with my cars. Sunday, I will be spending the majority of the day doing a paint correction. I will post pics of that as well.

I actually bought those through my parts department. I like the looks better plus I feel you should see the bolts.
