2015 C63S
These are the numbers for my purchase:

Total Price: $82,650.00 C63S

If I lease: $4000 Down Payment, 36-Month, 10K Miles: $1405.00

if I buy: $4000.00 Down Payment, 60-Month, 4.28% Interest: $1458.00

Very expensive either way, i am gonna have to consider another option.

The other day I went to The Collection, a friend bought a Cayman GTS for $1462.00 a month, $2500 down and 27-month lease.

C63S Total paid in lease: $54,580.00
Cayman GTS Total paid in lease: $43,474.00

That is a $11,106.00 difference.

Spoke to my CA today and he said don't go by those numbers as they are rarely accurate. I did remind him if they are anywhere near that I will be looking at other cars instead. I guess we will see

I'm putting 20k down just to keep my payments low. Leasing isn't even a option for me. I drive way too much.

Yeah, those lease numbers seem a bit high. I'd be shocked if they end that high -- considering BMW is practically giving away the M3 in the lease market. I'd like to see the internals (MF, residuals, etc.).

With that said, I'll likely put down between $15K and $20K to get my monthly numbers down on a purchase.

Thanks for the input, I hope the payments hover around $1200,00, if not I am afraid I am out.

BMW Financial Services is WAY more aggressive on their leases than MB Financial will ever be unfortunately. That, and the cliff-like depreciation of the AMG line is what is stacking the deck against those looking to lease.

Regarding the Cayman GTS lease - you cannot compare them because their lengths are not the same. Obviously a 27 month lease will come out cheaper than a 36 month lease at a similar monthly...

That said - the GTS is sweet.

Yeah but you are still $100 higher (by average month) with the Cayman GTS.
Don't get me wrong the Cayman GTS is a sharp looking car but for $1610 a month for an entry level 2 seater is pretty steep imo.

Original numbers definitely look to be too high.

For a purchase, shop around for rates -- in the case of CPO, it's a no-brainer to take the 1.99% plus a quarter point off for direct deposit. In the case of a new car, I have not seen an AMG qualify yet for promo rate. MBFS not so good in that department.

MBFS does not have MSDs -- multiple security deposits used to bring the MF down. Only leasing the 507 because we want to evaluate the car for possible purchase in a few years.

didn't see anyone mention this, but remember to also look for auto loan through credit unions. that's what I am gonna do.

https://www.kpcu.com/personal/consum...uto-loans#tab3

as low as 1.49% obviously must have impeccable credit rating to get that rate. I think I am gonna do the 1.99 60 month.

My wife's auto is already enjoying the 1.99 via the same CU.

That is actually not correct. You are able to use MSD's on the C63/C63S on a lease. This vehicle is a standard rate car and does qualify for them.

This might be the case for the newer cars but did not apply to the MY14 507. I specifically asked MBFS and they did not have it. Sure, policies can change and I am open to that.

whether it's the new C63 or a new Toyota Camry, leasing a newly released car is insanity.

Well your comparison is not fair!
First of all you lease a car to drive and enjoy it right?
If you lease C63S you can drive it for 36 month but you lease and enjoy the Cayman GTS for 27 months...
As far as comparison, in 27 months you can pay 41974 (27*1462+2500) for Cayman or 41935 (27 * 1405 +4000) for C63... the additional 9 months is the cost of more enjoyment... you always can break the lease or sell the car, so after 27 months you can switch C63 if you want to
And also I don't see any similarity between C63S and Cayman GTS... two different cars... nothing in common so why do you compare them just in payment?

You are right that they are two completely different cars, i am just comparing the payments. For the payment of the Mercedes I can have a Porsche which is a better brand in my opinion. If I were to lease the Porsche for 36 months the payments would go down, then the numbers would look very similar but I think the option of a Cayman GTS is much more enticing than a C63S.

At launch, it is hard to find deals. That said, I still think the W205 lease deals will be better than what has been advertised thus far.

The W204 C63 debuted in '08 and by late '09/early '10, Mercedes-Benz was offering dealers $10k in "trunk money" to move C63s.

Back then, I was offered a fully loaded pre-LCI W204 C63 with a discount of over $12k. The lease payment was going to be ridiculously low (somewhere in the $600 range). I wanted to do the deal. Just couldn't get out of my other car without taking a bit of a bath.

I just spend some time on the Porsche website to check out the Cayman GTS, its options etc. I must agree that the agate grey is a sharp color. I was curious to see how much a comparably equipment one would cost. My goodness the options lists go on forever which I liked at first but all the constant price adjustments from the configurator started to annoy me but I was already over $90 grand. My point . . . at least 10 grand more then a C63s so If you can get a GTS for less. . .go for it and enjoy
It will also reduce my waiting time if you are going to wait for a C63s MY2016 so I could be biased.

Hahaha, point taken. Ill just wait until I sit with my sales rep and workout the monthly payments. I am grabbing the 2015 one so you are safe.

My personal opinion is lease rates are purely strategic tools. We see BMW increasing residuals and adjusting rates just as other cars are being released. Its happening now and it happened when the RC-F was released. From a business perspective, not a bad strategy.
