C63s. Quarter mile

Not sure if s/he is around but here is a quote from member C63-Dxb:
"Thanks guys, it's my friends car ( air freight ), mine is on the way. We just ran it on track, 11.7@119 without luanch control, DA around 1800."

C63 507 AMG DA Car #19
THX C63 DXB! Just what I was looking for.
All the hoopla about this car and no track times was surprising. I'm guessing most are like me still putting on break-in miles. I'm @ 170 miles today.... so it's early days.
Mid 11's........ is SOLID! 1.897 60' on street tires is damn good.
FUnny thing I spent way more on my clk55 in the base car plus bolt-ons, tunes, mods, to run low 12's...... and a showroom stock c63s walks all over my old project car. I could not be happier with my new ride.
This car really gets attn, with the sport exh in the loud position. I've driven mine for about 5 days and each time I get m5, m3, c63, E63S, GTR..... exhaust revs and thumbs up.
Can't wait to see what this car will do with drag radials, and some cool weather...... low 11's in stock trim?
Mid 10's with a tune?
High 9's with a tune, sticky tires, and downpipes?
I guess we'll see.

You must be joking about 9's... Right? Congrats on your new ride btw
Cheers

I agree....11.7 stock is hauling a$$. I think a simple ECU tune will get you near mid 10s. If the M177 has the room we believe it has, you might be able to take this thing to the high 600s HP / tq with a stage 2 or 3 tune. Then add sticky tires and downpipes and you're running with and ahead of the big boys.

Mid 10's with just a tune? I guess we will see, though I highly doubt it

I'm a bit confused by the MPH. I assume this is actually KPH as I don't think a stock C63 is running 191 MPH in the quarter. If this is KPH, then it is only about 114 MPH. This seems like a very low trap speed for an 11.7 1/4 mile. The old w204 trapped at 118-120. The M4 traps between 116 and 119 depending on transmission. 11.6 - 11.7 is much better than the stock M4 and the w204, but these trap speeds are puzzling.

191.85 KPH = 119.21 MPH

Sorry, I was using 0.6 as the conversion factor, not 0.621371 which the internet tells me is correct.
OK, I'm still confused. As I said before, the w204 ran low 12s at 118 to 120 and the M4 runs low 12s at 116 to 119.
Running mid to high 11s at 119 suggests really good traction and good low end torque, but limited power at higher RPM. Thus, I still find this result odd.

We will really want to see the AIT's, Boost, MPH, ET's, Timing, etc.... data-logged over the quartermile to see what is going on here.
You might all remember the heat-soak issues with the E55's...... which kills MPH. Hopefully not the same going on here.... in the hot dubai climate?
Perhaps some cooling mods in order, like the old E55?
This could explain a strong 1/8th mile performance.... then fall off on the top end.
I do have to say though we flogged the E63S, CLS63S, and GTS @ COTA for AMG driving academy.... and I did not experience any heat soak....... the only car that suffered from heat soak was the CLK45 after hot lapping autocrossing like 10 laps in a row with no rest.

We'll see what Renntech, EC, etc.. have in store.
Hard to believe we get a stock car running mid 11's on street tires.
Beats the old days of gutting wgt reduction, NOS, drag tires, blowers......

The result reflects this cars torque
This is typical of vehicles powered by high torque output engines vs N/A which will usually show a quicker ET but lower end or terminal speed compared to similar or higher power engine but with less torque output in a given vehicle.
We all now know that both traction and torque a far superior with this new 205 C63 compared to the previous 204 gen.
Low 11's and high 10's should be no problem with tunes, imagine what the times could be AWD despite the added weight and as speculated again more recently AWD is coming for the C63 coupe range interesting times ahead
