Whats with all the aluminum foil blocking the ram air?

 

The air intake system is at the front of bay (nearest the grille).

 

This car looks good in that color.... (I'm biased of course).

 

I would say what you see is the heat shield from the "in V" turbos. No RAM air on this engine. As Zibby mentioned air is sucked from the front right behind the grill (you can see the 2 ducts on both banks). Pretty similar to the M156 engine. But that is where the similarities stop
