Cars.
New models will always have teething issues. Don't worry, they'll take care of you.

I would have gone straight to the dealer after being told that the "Engine Light" was on in my brand new car.

I would want to see and experience any "issues" so that I was well aware of it's severity (good chance anything major will be downplayed).

Maybe there isn't any issue, maybe there is a Service Advisor that plans on taking a girl out for the 4'th. Then, after the holiday weekend, you get the call informing you that your car is "fixed". Had that happen to me once (Ford).

Update

JULY 6th UPDATE:

So I was finally able to pick up my car after a scare from the dealer. Bottom line is the guy that called me with the news from the dealer over delivered on the bad news. Turns out it was a minor issue discovered during PDI and they were prohibited from releasing the car until it checked out. I didn’t get the call until I was en route, which pissed me off and caused unnecessary concern on my part. My sales guy, who has been outstanding, eventually called me with an update and apologized for the overreaction. Thanks for the words of support.

As for the car – WOW!!!!!!

I’ve seen many pictures and videos and they just don’t compare to the look, sound, and feel of the car in person. Will post pics in a separate thread soon. For now, all sensors are go with no CELs. I did a thorough examination of the car at pick up (bumpers, trim, seats, etc.) and the car appears to be without any issues. Give credit where credit is due, Kudos to Merc as this car is amazing. See you soon in my build thread with pics….!
