Agility Select

Does the agility selector always revert back to Comfort mode after the car is turned off? Does Individual mode always stay selected?

Thanks

Settings revert to Comfort each time car starts. This helps with fuel economy testing.

Yep, I actually prefer it that way. It only takes half a second to switch to S+ if needed.

You can always just stop the car in front of the house and leave it running.

I prefer to find my car the way I left it. I'd be pretty annoyed if all my seat & mirror adjustments reverted back to default every time I shut the car off, same goes for driving mode & other settings.

Of course they CAN do it but it would bite them on the butt for mileage standards if it did not default to the best mileage settings--Your dissing the wrong people --try the EPA.

Didn't mean to sound like I was dissing anybody. The real winners here will be my neighbors, as the car will always start on the quietest exhaust setting (such as it is).

This all depends on me getting my hands on one of these machines someday soon.

I have been thinking about my neighbors also as my brother just visited with his new ZO6 and I think everyone on my street was glad to see him go.

Let my guess. Engine auto start/stop also resets to always on?

Again an EPA/Café item for the Mfg.
but good news is you don't have to go thru a menu but just push a button on the console.

Indeed. I have my individual program set to my liking for dry days. It is not much of an imposition to push the driving mode selector rocker switch up once after starting the car.

While this is one extra step, I console myself by remembering that I don't have to mess with the E-brake, so that is one less step and thus I brake [pun intended] even.

For those who find this extremely bothersome, I suspect that one or more tuners will find a way to retain the preferred driving mode as part of the tune.

Yep....for me none of this is a big deal. In the morning, I start the car and let it warm up anyway so it really only takes me two .3 second clicks to get the car into S+ if needed. Also, start/stop is right there as well. I can go click click press and go from eco / comfort to a more aggressive non-eco S+ mode in less than one second. Its really that easy. One click up puts you in individual mode and if that's aggressive, well, you just saved yourself even more time.

I know its a matter of preference so because I'm not rich, I like the eco mode on and start in comfort default for the best efficiencies. When I'm ready to play, then I go click click press and I'm on my way I go. In fact, I had the best of both worlds today. Was driving in comfort / eco setting on when a Camaro pulled up next to me with his modded exhaust growling. He was toeing the line so I quickly went into S+ mode at the light and needless to say it didn't take long before he learned that I bought my car at Fletcher Jones in Newport Beach.

That reminds me, I need to replace that dealer frame on the back with a CF frame.

First mod was the dealer plate removal. They don't get free advertising from me. Ridiculous that they think the 88K wasn't enough.

I wish cars here were 88k for c63, I would be much happier lol.. a well spec one is like 110 here easy

man thats quite annoying about the eco button, i can understand about the pre selector going back to comfort but i wish that eco was always off.

BMW has benz beat in this aspect, it stays off and I believe it stays in whatever mode you left the car last

Yes and no. On the new M3/4 you can permanently disable the start/stop function. However, just like with the C63, the car defaults to Comfort mode every time you restart. Also like the C63, the M lets you program a driving mode preference that you can select with one button push.

On the other hand, the start/stop function on the M is quite rough. On the C63, I barely notice it and it operates very smoothly.

If you go to S+ doesn't that automatically turn off the start/stop?

This is probably also a safety feature. Say you left the car in Race mode where the ESP is in Sport then your wife goes to drive the car next and isn't used to Sport ESP. Might have an accident.

It's no big deal really and I think this is better that it goes back to Comfort personally.

I can agree with you on this, but that doesnt still explain the eco mode.

Another benefit of the car returning to C (Comfort): It is much better to warm the motor and vital fluids (oil, etc.) up in C. This is my opinion only. In C, I'm able to keep the revs down much easier while I'm waiting for oil to reach all the critical components on a cold start.

Eco mode is the same reason the car no longer has a 6.2 litre V8 and is down to a 4 litre V8 with turbos. It's about the environment and even if you don't care, governments push hard on car makers so they have little choice.

To be honest I don't understand why so many of you US members have problems with auto start stop. The engine starts quickly so no problems there. It starts again if temp is too hot to run AC, etc. It's pretty cool when your sat at lights and you get to hear it purr into life, making the guy who wants to cut you up in the other lane realise the error of his ways

What is it that you have against it? In comfort mode your unlikely to be driving hard and fast. Other modes you are and it's not used.
