That edition one sure looks great with the diamond seats and red CF trim. I wanted to ask about pricing, I know before placing the order you didn't have pricing. I know clicking every option your pushing 100k in Canada on the C63s, did the dealer have much wiggle room or require a big deposit when the car was delivered.

I remember you saying if the car was $100k the deal would not happen.

I'm looking to upgrade and found a white c63s edition one but also a S-class is a $100k.

Dealers in Ontario wont give much of a discount and want about $1200 a month.

$600-700 is fine but $1200 for a C63 seems high with 3% discount and already being a MB owner.

 

If I remember correctly the MSRP was 97k. With everything it ended up being around 105-107k, and the monthly payments are $1400.

The dealership wasn't willing to give me any discount at all. They said that it's a new model, plus the Edition 1 can be seen as a collectors car so that's why they weren't willing to give me a discount. The deposit I had was just $500. Only positive thing with the pricing and stuff was that I received 0.75% off the interest rates thanks to the MB loyatly program.

 

Mine came in at 101K. But I don't have the HUD.

Just attended the Mercedes Mastering performance thing/AMG driving academy. Got to drive most of the vehicles in AMG's line up including the GT and the C63S on the track, and even received a ride with a professional driver (Danny Kok. Man he's an amazing driver) in the AMG GT. So i'll add track performance to the review soon, and will put up pictures of the experience as well.

Looks cleaner without IMO.

I like the red not so much the side sticker

 

I plan on keeping them on since they're subtle yet they make the car look more unique.

HUD.

Does it only show KM and NAVI? No gear? or RPM?

 

There are two HUD settings. One shows Navi and speed you're traveling at only. The other one shows what gear you're in, speed you're traveling at, and the rpm (It's one of those formula one style rpm bars.)

Race start + burnout videos taken by someone else at a meet!

 

Just finished about 600km since the break in period so I'm finishing off the review with this after break in stuff.

Power/handling- During the break in period the car had plenty of power even in Sport+, but it isn't until you're finished the break in period that you witness the true potential of the C63S. Once you get engage race mode the car emerges into a completely different beast. You get added Hp (and most likely torque as well), the transmission becomes extremely aggressive and it usually doesn't go below 3000 rpm unless you're stopping, and depending on the speed you're travelling at it can stay at about 5k rpm, and finally the ESP engages into sport handling mode allowing you to put down the power more easily and readily while at the same time giving you freedom, but not enough to get you into trouble. Some may ask "What does that mean?". Well it means one thing. You'll have ton's of fun, and the car turns into a absolute beast. You'll find yourself confidently going through corners at speeds you'd think the car wouldn't be able to handle, but thanks to the cars amazing set up you'll go through them with full on confidence. But if you want to be a hooligan it's also rather easy to slide the car around turns, and luckily enough thanks to the smart ESP and electronics the car uses, it's rather easy to regain control of your vehicle after a "accidental" slide. Now lets get back to the power. Whenever you accelerate from a stand still you'll find yourself dealing with some wheel spin even if you modulate the throttle and then give the car full power after you're already moving. This is most likely due to the small rear tiers, but the good news is that the wheel spin isn't too bad. When performing a Race Start the same thing practically occurs. You deal with tons of wheel spin at first in this occasion, but once the car finds some traction you get going big time (I also believe the car starts in second gear for this) and once you get going the car continuously keeps pulling even when you reach ludicrous speeds.

Score- 9.5/10. Give me an AMG GT and it'll become a 11/10.

Fuel economy- Fuel Economy slightly improved over the break in period so I'm getting 8.7 highway at times, and 13.8 in city if I don't drive like a "Maniac".

Score- 9.85/10

Tracking- Got to experience the C63S (Their car) at the track during the AMG driving Academy/Mercedes mastering performance stuff so I'll just go into small detail with this since I only got about 6 or so laps in it. This car handles amazingly at the track. Drove the car in Sport+ mode with the traction control on since this was only a few days after I received my car, plus it was my first time being at a track. It handles corners quite well, and at no point did I feel hesitant when taking it through a corner. Especially not when I had some experience after tracking different cars for a few hours at the event. Didn't feel any body roll during the track experience (Unlike the GLA 45 and 250. Those things had tons of body roll in my opinion), and found myself taking corners in it faster than the other cars... Except for the AMG GT. So based off my experience I'd say this is quite a good car to take to the track, and probably will start tracking it often next.

Score- 9.0/10. If it were a AMG GTS 9.5/10.

Sound- After the break in period the car became louder. Angrier, meaner, louder, and well. More badass. When switching gears it makes an amazing popping sound which at times can make the passenger jump if they're driving with you the first time. But this isn't the best sound that the car makes. Oh no not even close. The best sound is whenever you downshift especially at 4-5k rpm. The normal downshifts crackles and burbles which is extremely pleasing, but once you downshift at that 4-5k rpm point the car makes an extremely loud gun firing sound. Literally thought someone was shooting at me the first time I ever did this so I can imagine how much it can scare the other drivers on the road! My only complaint is that the car isn't loud enough, and doesn't sound as good as the W204 in the mid range, but otherwise in my personal opinion I believe it sounds better everywhere else.

Don't know if I went into this during my initial review so I'll add it in here anyways. When driving the car in comfort mode, or driving it aggressively in sport+/manual mode with the windows closed (I usually drive with them open whenever I can) the whole experience turns luxurious. You barely hear any wind sound, and any outside noises at all.

Score- 9.99999999999/10. Needs to be louder during the mid range point. Electronic cut outs should help out with this. AMG GTS- 10/10 since it sounds better for some reason.

Reliability- So far the cars extremely reliable. Haven't had any issues with it other then one thing the dealership screwed up with the illuminated star so that it only turns on when the Parking lights are on instead of whenever the DRL's are on. So after my experience with the CLA 45, I'm quite happy with this, but I'm still uncertain whether or not I'll return to AMG in the future since I hate how the brand is being diluted.

Score so far- 10/10.

How much fun it is- Tons of fun. Tons and tons and tons and tons, but not AMG GT level of fun.

score- 9.0/10. AMG GT- 9.7/10.

Just got a check engine light today...

So. The car either has a intake leak, or it needs a software update. They weren't able to finish up the diagnosis today so they'll continue it on Monday. Also on my way back home from the dealership started acting up. It sounded quieter than normal, and didn't really have it's amazing v8 sound. The rpm also went up and down randomly at times with the transmission doing weird gear shifts.

 

So today one of the guys in the MB group I'm in brought a scanner to the meet and we got the following code... P2189. I'm hoping that it ends up just being a software update, and that my car passes the bulletin/recall. So I'll have a update Monday when I take the car into the dealership again.

Starting to become rather disappointed with the built quality of the car. So far 3 parts have fallen off, and had to be put back on.

 

LOL i know what you mean.. I am having a bad experience too.. not as bad as you so far though.
