Wipers chatter like hell

My wipers chatter on the 2015 W205 C63S

Turn them on when it's raining and the sputter around chattering and skipping like crazy.

New blades or new wiper arms don't fix it. The dealer isn't helping, doesn't know how, doesn't seem to be getting support on the issue. I tried on other C300 demo in the lot and guess what, same problem.

My friends 2015 C300 does the same and worse, he has been in several times, they want to replace the windshield as the next attempt.

What is going on?

Jeebus, does anything work the way it should on this car?

At this rate, I'm going to wait 4-5 years for the facelifted MY's to roll out.

This kind of stuff should not be happening on a brand new car, first MY or not.

We need to start a "Stuff that should work, but doesn't" thread and keep track of this stuff on a huge lust. Kind of like the W205 guys in other forum section. I will contribute at least 4 things that required service.

This is nuts.

Same problem here. I've had mine replaced by the dealer two different times with no luck. I finally bought Bosch Icon 22 OE blades and they work perfect now.

There is a thread in the W205 forum on this:

So can anyone confirm if the aftermarket wipers mentioned in the other thread fit and correct the issue?

Same here on my car. It's like the wiper blades are either super new or super old.

Wiping them clean and adding Rain-X did the trick. But I added Rain-X to the blades and windshield.

I have had this issue with several new cars. I used rain-x and like forum member HRD2PLZ I replaced them with Bosch blades on my explorer.

I'll try the Bosch Icon 22 OE blades. Apparently they can fit the W205 changed wiper arms. Worth a try for $25. I'll look into it.

It's a real **** off for MB to design such a ****ty result and not fix the design error.

No matter how nice the car is, when the wipers chatter like hell and you look at the Hyundai next to you with smooth running wipers, you can't help but shake your head.

I used my for the first time because it finally rained in Vancouver and it also chattered. I sprayed some Windex on the windshield and left it on overnight, no more chatter.

The chatter keeps coming back no matter how you treat the windsheild. At times it takes a few wipws for the chatter to return.

The Bosch aftermarket don't fit.

When will MB find a real fix? The dealer is dumbfounded.

Did you remove the platic connector from the wiper? That's what I had to do and they snapped right in.

There must be different versions of the wiper arm.

The Bosch does not fit on my car.

I noticed that the CLA has the different arm connector and they would fit on that style but not my style.

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
Meanwhile, they came up with new things such as wiper fluid sprayed from the blades while they couldn't even fix basic blade operation.

The dealer just told me they need to aquire a special tool first to check and adjust the angle of the arm/blade as per an MB service information bulletin.

Well they used the so called windshield wiper special tool on my friends C300 W205 and it did not fix the issue.

They insist using the same tool on my W205 C63S to verify, as they HAVE TO follow procedure on every car complaining about the chatter and I doubt it will yield better results.

MB Canada customer service have heard from me and don't have an answer. They now have a TIPS report in the system.

It's very concerning that MB does not have a solution.

I think it's the quality of the blade rubber or the blade geometry and there is no after market blade that will fit these new arm couplings.

MB has been building cars for 100 years but they screw up the wipers.

They try and they try nonsense ideas but they can't fix the wiper chatter.

My wipers initially chattered when I first picked up the car, but after making sure I thouroughly wipe them down after each car wash, they don't chatter at all.

The rubber seems to either be stiff or dirty from the factory.

When the windshield is almost dry, they chatter. When you payed attention during Physics you know why :-) But they do their job very, very well. Whipping the window dry. Off cause you can have them run smooth, but then the would not whipe that well :-)

Has anyone tried using a clay bar on their windshield? I can honestly say I haven't had any issues with my wipers from day one.

I polished the windshield twice with glass wax polish from Griots and applied RainX and Cleaned wipers with RainX twice. with a good amount of rain there is NO chatter but with a light mist there is a small amount of chatter
